The Trump Card...

Hopefully as the investigation moves forward, DOJ will seek search warrants for other Trump properties where stolen classified and other NDI (National Defense Information) documents have been carelessly strewn about.
They may already have and searches may already have been conducted. We would not know about any such searches unless Trump broadcasts that news out like he did about the Mar-a-Lago search.

Thank you, RLENT, for pointing us toward the transcript. Do you happen to know of a good place online to see all the court documents concerning Donald J. Trump v. The United States? For future reference, I'd like to compile a list of those documents and links to them.

TRANSCRIPT OF MOTION TO APPOINT SPECIAL MASTER HEARING

Here it is, about 59 pages, for those who are interested in reading it.

The raid was just about on every news channel.....trump had nothing to do with that because he was up in new York in a deposition hearing for most of the day.

Kindly review the news of that day. DOJ quietly conducted the search and left the grounds. No media was present anytime during the search. The search became breaking news when Trump himself posted about it on social media, thereby breaking the story.

The news broke in the evening during the cable news shows I was watching. I remember being quite surprised. But the search started in the morning. Had the media known about it in the morning or mid-day as the search proceeded, they would have reporters doing live shots in front of Mar-a-Lago all day long.

You are correct saying Trump was in New York when the search was conducted. But news about the search did not go public until Trump himself put out the word. The DOJ said nothing about it and would have said nothing a few days later had Trump not succeeded in stirring up a huge amount of public interest in it. That public interest was cited as the main reason the DOJ decided to ask the magistrate to unseal the warrant and inventory.

Trump has a rally in Pa this evening.
Polls show him with a 7 point lead over Biden.
An unheard of advantage for a Republican in a presidential poll matchup in the Keystone state.

Good that he did. Let everyone know about the unnecessary and unlawful search and seizure. The DOJ would have leaked it anyway. Smart move by Trump.

I watched it on tv kind of hard to miss all the police cars out in front with cops directing traffic. And of course our trump supporters waving flags and such.
30 agents and unknown amount of cops along with a few news channels there.

Your timing is off. If you insist on clinging to your false narrative, that's your bed to sleep in.

Let's all hope Trump keeps up his social media posts. Indeed, lets hope he increases his pace. His public posts are all admissible in court.

Is it rational to think that 30 FBI agents showing up at the residence of a former POTUS - especially Trump - is going to go unnoticed and conducted on the down-low? Considering the numbers of security and staff who populate that place there's no doubt that when the first FBI vehicle pulled up there was somebody on the phone to their contacts in the media who probably knew about it before Trump did. The Feds knew this and didn't have to put out the word to anybody. They also knew Trump would raise hell about it, so for a change the FBI/DOJ didn't have to leak anything.

Not exactly.

Trump confirmed the search when he posted about it on social media, but the story itself was already broken by Peter Schorsch of FloridaPolitics.com, who gave it to a few of his contacts in national media, then Tweeted it out on his own, "The tweet went viral, and within minutes the breaking news alerts and cable news chyrons started popping off."

That's when Trump responded.

Story here in The Independent, but similar recounts are at WaPo, even Vogue, among other outlets. Even CNN credited Mr Schorsch for the scoop.

On a side note, Eric Trump was staying at Mar-a-Lago when the FBI search took place.

Yes, Turtle, that is correct. That's what happened and your Schorsch report is accurate. But as soon as the story started to come out, Trump jumped in and it exploded because the whole world had it straight from the horse's mouth.

I accept your clarification to my report. Danthewolf00's account remains inaccurate.

It's not my Schorsch report, but anyway, I never disagreed that the story exploded after Trump confirmed it. It's just that Trump didn't break the story.

And that's a detail that is clear-cut and verifiable, yet many people get it wrong, and steadfastly stick to they didn't get it wrong, or they have it kinda sorta, directionally correct, close enough to be practically correct. So, not wrong.

Imagine how confusing it might get when people start speculating what might have once been inside the old, empty manila folders marked "CLASSIFIED" that are strewn about Trump's properties.

There will be a lot of ink spilled and breathless commentary about the empty folders. I'm not focusing much on those as the empty folders are not a substantial part of the bigger story. It would be if evidence surfaced showing the folders contained classified documents that were improperly distributed or stored outside the folders, but there is no evidence of that now, and explanations of why such empty folders might be sitting around are plausible.

Pretend for a moment that the folders do not exist and were never discovered at Mar-a-Lago. The essential elements of the bigger story remain in place.
