McConnell is the one the most, if not the most unpopular politician currently around. He’s out of touch with the direction of the Republican Party which is moving more and more to blue collar voters. Oz and Hershell Walker aren’t season politicians but hardly wackos. Not like the Dems candidates Fetterman and Wornock.
McConnell's "low quality candidate" comment reflects the arrogance of the established, old school political aristocracy that many people on both sides of the isle now find offensive. The Senate could very likely flip to the GOP this fall in spite of the numbers favoring Democrats - they only have to defend 14 seats with one retirement, while the GOP has 20 in the race and five retiring. However, there are a few states that could very likely flip to red, especially AZ, and GA. AZ and NV have had enough of the Biden open border policies, and every hand-spanked UGA fan remembers Herschel Walker winning the Heisman and taking them to a national championship - and they'll be voting right in the middle of football season. Lastly, once this Fetterman goofball is forced out of hiding and has to defend his radical liberal positions the seat in PA will stay red.
Another thing the Democrats have going against them is their record for the past two years - abysmal failure, and their voting records in favor of it.
