Watching the cable news shows this evening, it seems the Mar-a-Lago news story has run its course. It went from uninterrupted coverage a couple days ago to the first few minutes of the hour now. A quiet period will likely follow as nothing new develops, and DOJ quietly continues it's investigation. While rehash will continue for a time, It could be months before anything new about this bubbles up.

Not going to happen because Democrats don't do smart....because if they did smart they would have never raided trumps home.

Smart would have been to send 4 agents to get the paperwork quietly....no they had to send 30 agents with flashing lights and take 9 hours.

Afghanistan will not fade away....you don't botch a operation that badly and get 13 military troops killed and leave 85 billion dollars in equipment behind.

Here's an interesting read that points out that the three crimes cited don't require related documents to be classified. Like many have already said, conduct the search and haul away whatever documents they want, then match them with a crime. A completely open-ended fishing expedition.

I think it's important to notice that the Mar-a-Lago search is NOTHING like any previous event (or nothingburger, hoax, scandal).

How do we know that? We know that because FEDERAL AGENTS SEARCHED TRUMP'S HOUSE AND OFFICES and took 20 boxes of materials to further investigate.

Have you read the warrant? It's incredibly overbroad and not at all specific. Everything about it screams "pretext" to go fishing.

So it has come to light that the fbi waited till after trump left to go to new York for his deposition with the ny prosecutor....the fbi in charge decided that with trump gone it would be a quiet raid....boy did that backfire badly.
That's why they got the warrant on Friday and hit mar largo on Monday.

I believe this whole raid was to get in to take attorney client privilege information otherwise why take it when you know trump is going to raise a stink over it.

Yeah ... relevant case law would probably be something to look at ... preferably before making any pronouncements on whether the search was legal, violated the 4th Amendment, was over broad, etc.

The President doesn't have to offer any evidence of declassification to anyone. He doesn't answer to anyone on that, since the President is the ultimate authority on what can be declassified, when, and how.

If that is so, then-president Trump was free to declare the documents in question declassified without offering any proof. His statement is enough.

So too, then, with Biden. He does not need to offer anything more than a statement that he re-classified the documents in question the instant Biden took office.

Documents said by a president to be declassified without evidence, can be said by a president to be re-classified without evidence too. Which statement would prevail? The one issued by the current president who has this power.
