Nope - they really had no skin in that specific game.

They could have easily laid it off on a single lone officer who went rouge.

That they didn't tells ya something ... ;)

Hint: it was a good shoot ... against an individual with a prior history of being prone to violence (although that was unknown at the time)
Not even close to a good shoot.0318D9C7-D9EF-4C3A-88DE-93E0BB4B0871.jpeg33DDFE96-2980-48F9-A982-DFA71A3A26CB.jpeg86DD3C4E-B521-4489-910D-AFB6D2B3272C.jpeg

No the cops had guns.....nobody that went into the Capitol building other than law enforcement had guns.

Well, that's a slight change of premise (from "brought guns to the fight" to "into the Capitol" ... ;))

If that ultimately does end up being true (as far as "into the Capitol building"), it will have been be due to the efforts of law enforcement heroes turning back guys like this:

And apprehending the other Trumper goober who had multiple firearms and Molotov cocktails in his pick up truck just a few blocks away.

As far as the original premise goes though, there's the little matter of the weapons (including long guns) for the "QRF" which were staged at a motel or hotel in Ballston awaiting deployment.

The Feds have surveillance footage of that, and it will no doubt be featured in the trials of some of higher level conspirators.

You can't call it a insurrection or coup because because it wasn't either one.

I have already done so, and I will continue to do so.

It was an insurrection and an attempted coup that thankfully failed.

It was a angry protest......just like blm and antifa had peaceful protesting.

Sorry, nope.

It's inaccurate.

Your first tip-off should have been that the story originated with "The Epoch Times" ... :tearsofjoy:

52 arrested, 6 weapons recovered at U.S. Capitol riot

The second tip-off should have been the FBI was being cited in the article as "confirmation".

Nothing necessarily wrong as far as the FBI as a source for confirmation for things that are in their wheelhouse ... but they weren't primary law enforcement presence on the ground that day.

After a March 3 meeting of a joint oversight Senate committee investigating the riot, some outlets seized on testimony from the FBI counterterrorism division's assistant director that the bureau had not recovered any guns during the incident.

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., asked Jill Sanborn, assistant director of the FBI’s counterterrorism division, how many guns the FBI had confiscated in the Capitol or on its grounds on Jan. 6.

“To my knowledge, none,” Sanborn is quoted as saying in several outlets, including The Epoch Times. At least one other outlet quoted The Epoch Times coverage.

But that leaves out the first part of Sanborn’s response, when she declined to speak for the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department or U.S. Capitol Police.

The U.S. Department of Justice has charged at least three people on gun charges stemming from the Jan. 6 riot, including one whom prosecutors said Metro police found carrying a loaded handgun with an extra magazine.

Fact check: Claim about FBI official who said bureau recovered no guns at Capitol riot is missing context

Nice try ... but: #FAIL

Police seized alarming number of weapons on Capitol rioters, court documents show

... including firearms:

Police have seized an alarming number of guns from President Trump's supporters who descended on Washington, D.C., last week and stormed the Capitol in an effort to stop Congress's certification of the 2020 election results.

The details revealed in court documents over the past week paint a disturbing picture indicating that some of the demonstrators flocked to the Capitol prepared to carry out violence. The cases, likely only the beginning of a lengthy federal investigation, also suggest that the riot that overran the halls of Congress and left five people dead could have been much worse. ...

A Running List of Gun Arrests Tied to the U.S. Capitol Attack

The January 6 insurrection wasn’t explicitly billed as a Second Amendment event. But the specter of guns was everywhere: on the flags flown by rioters, in the insurrectionist theory they espoused, and the tactical gear they donned. And in some cases, despite Washington, D.C.’s unusually strict gun laws, which require firearms to be registered with local police, the Trump supporters who gathered at the U.S. Capitol were armed.

As of now, at least 10 people have been hit with illegal gun possession charges stemming from the riot, according to an analysis of arrest recordsand court documents. Two of them were detained after police noticed a bulge under their clothing. Three people were arrested the night before the riot. Another person, Proud Boys’ leader Enrique Tarrio, was found in possession of two large-capacity magazines when police arrested him for another crime on January 4. Because Tarrio planned on going to the rally, we included him in our tally. ...

That's quite a list linked in that article.

Speaking of which, how many remember the BLM/Antifa riot in our nation's capitol on Trump's inauguration day in 2017? This was planned weeks - if not months - in advance, and DC security forces had plenty of time to arrange additional security forces to be brought in to support the security that would have normally been in place for a presidential inauguration. Keep in mind that additional security and help from the National Guard was refused on Jan 6th. Had this offer been accepted, the Jan 6 riot likely could have been prevented and the Capitol Bldg would not have been breached.

But even with extra forces in place on inauguration day, millions of dollars in damage was done and a whopping 217 arrests were made. Compare this to the 700+ arrested for their participation on Jan 6.

This was one of many acts of domestic terrorism organized by BLM/Antifa during 2020, which accounted for over 120 days of rioting and over $2Billion in damage during an election year. All of this was an effort by anarchists who were hell-bent on disrupting the inauguration of a duly elected president and to interfere with his ability to carry out his sworn duties.

"The details reveal that in the BLM riots, "several" defendants were held for "months," while among those arrested for their actions at the Capitol, "dozens held for months or longer, with some likely to spend over a year in jail pre-trial."
The 2020 events, and the 2017 inauguration violence, both were classified by the government as "riots." But the Biden administration repeatedly has classified the Capitol events as "Domestic terrorism."

All guns were found OUTSIDE the Capitol building.....

So what ?

To even legally possess firearms in the District of Columbia, the firearms must be registered with DC Metro Police.

People that own firearms who want to bring a firearm into DC are required to start the registration process IMMEDIATELY upon arrival, otherwise they are in violation of the law.

Once someone has obtained such a permit, then the firearms may be legally possessed - but, as a general matter, only in the person's home or place of business.

Carrying a handgun outside of your home or place of business is potentially a felony charge ... unless you have a carry permit from the District.

and surprisingly only one unarmed woman was shot by police

That is surprising ... and shows incredible restraint on the part of law enforcement officer who were on the scene that day.

There could have been many, many insurrectionists that got shot based on their conduct that day ... and it would have been entirely justified.

....yet not one cop killed.

Five law enforcement officers ultimately died as a consequence of what happened that day.

How Many Died as a Result of Capitol Riot?

Right, and witnesses (even Lt. Byrd, the shooter) observed that she did not have a weapon in her hand when she was shot. She most likely didn't see the officer who was hidden off to the side behind furniture and divided by glass. Many witnesses didn't even hear whatever muzzled warning he gave (if any) since he was masked up, behind glass, and with the amount of noise at the time. No attempt at arresting her either. About as bad as it gets as far as justified use of force.
