But his inaction and incompetence resulted in the deaths of over 600K Americans.

If you're gonna claim credit for the good, ya gots to pony up for the bad as well ...
You are also not mentioning the incompetence of Governors with nursing homes that resulted in thousands of unnecessary deaths. You are also not mentioning the Left "news" Media complex that had a crusade against the Trump hyped Malaria drug hydroxchlorquine, that cost 10 of thousands of lives for not making it widely available. You also didn't mention how they also panned the vaccines as not being available soon and gave their viewers a negative view of the new vaccines causing many not to get vaccinated and puting themselves at a greater risk of the virus, some of who attracted it and died. # facts matter

There's a wide range of possibilities between declaring martial law and doing pretty much nothing.

:tearsofjoy:
He shut down travel early on against Fauci's wishes. It also would have helped if the WHO didn't give wrong information about the virus early on either by incompetence or outright lying.

Guess it is just coincidence then. Riiight.
Unless you want to repeal the laws of supply and demand.
The truth is that no president — Democrat or Republican, friend of "big oil" or supporter of alternative fuels — can do much of anything to affect the short-term price of oil, and therefore gasoline. The overriding factor that determines the price of oil from day to day is the market principle of supply and demand [source: U.S. Energy Information Administration]. It comes down to simple economics:

No the price of gas has many factors.....but what the president says and does matters because those investors of the stock market listen to what he says....case in point Biden sighed a executive order hours after taking office to shut the xl pipeline down.....gas rose $.30 avg across the nation.

What an absurb question.

Thank you, Ragman for this link. People are constantly picking a single economic indicator like gas prices, employment, inflation, deficit spending, etc.) and using it to give blame or credit to a president. The fact is, you will be hard-pressed to look at meaningful data over a long term and make the case the the president or party in power controls any of it. The economy is bigger than any president or party in power. It controls them more than they control it.

Sorry but when Biden went in to office gas went up while trump was in office gas was cheap.....

If you look at the chart mutt provided you'll notice that the average gas price rose from a low of around $2.25 per gallon (early 2017) to a high of almost $3.00 per gallon while Trump was in office.

You'll also notice (hopefully) that the current trend of rising gas prices started ... (wait for it) ... back in April of 2020.

Largest drop in gas prices during the Trump era was precipitated by the pandemic ... at the cost of 600K American lives.

This is a narrow minded view of it. That Presidents actions and policies have little to do with gas prices.

I'm not saying there isn't market fluctuations with gas. But Trump' s fluctuations upward were temporary and still below 3 dollars a gallon. It took Biden about 6 months or so to shatter the 3 dollar mark.
Trump kept gas prices low not even counting the pandemic. Facts matter.

Oh ... that's good.

But Trump' s fluctuations upward were temporary and still below 3 dollars a gallon.

So is it your position that any fluctuations in prices that occur on Biden's watch will not also be "temporary" ?

Just want to get you on the record on that.

It took Biden about 6 months or so to shatter the 3 dollar mark.

Nation opening back up = increased demand + refinery shutdowns due to extreme cold event in Texas and elsewhere = higher prices.

Probably an assortment of other factors involved in all that as well.

Trump kept gas prices low not even counting the pandemic. Facts matter.

Trump personally had no such ability.

To believe otherwise is delusional thinking.
