The Future of the Republican Party and USA

It remains to be seen how much staying power AOC and her fellow Marxist/Socialists will have,
The same system that allowed lunatic-fringe Democrats to rise in the party is in the Republican Party. Delegates become delegates at seemingly unimportant, backwater party meetings. They then vote at local and state conventions to endorse candidates, elect party leaders and set party policy. These delegates are often highly motivated to go to these meetings but more sensible people often have other things going on in their lives or more important things to do. In that void, the extremists win the day and, like AOC, come to have their day in the sun.

This dynamic is intensified by the gerrymandering the elected officials do to draw district lines that are mostly red or mostly blue so as to make their own districts safe for themselves.

Yes - there are a couple of dissimilarities:

1. non-violent vs. violent.

2. legal vs illegal .

The Road to Hades is literally paved with all sorts of "bad intents" - the ones we're discussing here fall on the right side the short list I just made above.
Differences between the two events aside, it remains a pathetic, bad-faith play for Texas Democrats to flee the state to stop their own legislative body from doing its work. If they cannot secure the seats or votes to win on a bill, their job is to graciously lose and try harder next time; not to shut down the legislature by running away to deny a quorum.

But Biden carved out exemptions so we still import oil from Russia which is funding their military.
The buck stops over there.

Are we ?

You have some evidence of that ?

The Russians appear to be having a real hard time even getting their oil unloaded at ports.

Da union sez: "We ain't gonna unload that Rooskie oil"

There are a number of ships sitting in the Black Sea (7 if I recall correctly) that were enroute to get loaded that are holding off ... because it's not clear that they will be able to get off-loaded if they do.

Russian oil buyers struggle with payments and vessels, BP cancels loadings -traders

Russian Oil Buyers Struggle to Charter Vessels

Meanwhile RU is struggling just to sell oil ... even at record discounts - Shell just paid $28.45 below the going rate for Brent Crude.

The buck stops over there.

No ... the oil is in the process of stopping ... over there.

Meanwhile, gas here in rising higher and higher. All because of Biden’s boneheaded global warming policies.

Newsflash: Oil is a global commodity.

Therefore its price tends to be effected by world events.

;)

BTW - that's a pretty tough needle to thread:

1. "Biden still allowing imports of Russian oil !!!"

2. "Biden responsible for rising oil prices !!!"

Good luck to you sir !

Never forget:

This is your modern Trumper Republican Party ...
I hope it gets bigger too. The Dems can have war hawks that are or have been in the GOP. Good riddance Lindsay Graham, Romney…
BTW, what he said is true. The article was from a couple years ago and was spoken in the context about phony impeachment because of a phone call with the Ukraine President where Trump mentioned looking into corruption that Joe( “the big guy”) and his son Hunter were involved with. Perfectly legit concerns and legal. Most didn’t care about Ukraine, and like the reporter, most couldn’t pick it out on a map back then.

By all means Dems, let these people below be your brain trust:

Production at home would have offset whatever oil we are importing from Russia. That is why there should have been foresight by Biden about oil being a strategic commodity that you USE instead of leaving this country “high and dry“.

Good luck with that ... it will certainly be needed ... BIGLY !!!

:tearsofjoy:

Lindsay needs to retire the sooner the better.

Would take Romney in a heartbeat though.

:clapping-happy:

The opposition campaign ads will write themselves ... Mike's dreams of being POTUS dashed ... on the rocks of his big mouth.

:tearsofjoy:

Oh ... the impeachment was quite real ... nothing "phony" about it.

It happened.

It was, and is, a fact ... for the one term loser.

Suck it up.

I'm pretty sure "attempted extortion" is misspelled in there somewhere ...

Most didn’t care about Ukraine, and like the reporter, most couldn’t pick it out on a map back then.

Some folks insist on being a veritable fountains of lies:

"He asked if I could find Ukraine on a map I said, 'Yes,' he called out for his aides to bring him a map of the world with no writing, no countries marked. I pointed to Ukraine he put the map away, he said, people will hear about this, and then he turned and said he had things to do, and I thanked him again for his time and left."

Pompeo berated, cursed at NPR reporter over Ukraine questions, she says

As someone here recently advised:

"Please don't lie."

:tearsofjoy:

By all means Dems, let these people below be your brain trust:

Production at home would have offset whatever oil we are importing from Russia.

There are literally thousands of acres of current federal leases that companies could drill on.

They aren't. And probably won't ... until they decide it makes economic sense for them to do so.

Take it up with them.

That is why there should have been foresight by Biden about oil being a strategic commodity that you USE instead of leaving this country “high and dry“.
