Aoc
Maxine waters
.....then there are the ones that ignored their own mask laws......
Hmmm, lets talk about AOC, she is from NYC and spends a lot of time in DC, which has strict rules for masking and vaccine requirements for indoor places. As soon as she steps into Florida with no such rules she catches Covid.

I dont agree with everything she says but I admire her tenacity, we need more like her in Washington.

Not a natural disaster but wonderful and upright Texas democrats have fled the state more than once to prevent voting on legislation the worthless crybaby trash weren't upright enough to allow to come to a vote.

LDB has a point. If it's wrong for people to try to stop Congress from meeting to certify the Electoral College vote, is it also wrong for state representatives to flee their state so a quorum is denied and the state legislature can therefore not conduct business?

POTUS announced tonight that he will be closing off US airspace to all Russian flights, in concert with our allies.

I think it's nice that he delayed it a little ... so any GOP members who wanted to evacuate to Moscow could do so ...

It's the morally bankrupt leftists who always threaten/promise to leave the country if (fill in name here) wins election and then because they are liars with no character they stay.

More likely those folks - while probably well-meaning but misguided - chose to stay ... because they still believe in the founding principles that make America great and were unwilling to give up the fight for them.

Meanwhile ... what will likely become (unaffectionately) known as Uncle Vlad's Great Brain Drain of 2022 seems to be continuing apace:

Expect it to continue ... at least until Vladdy Daddy closes the borders.

But her friend is asking the right questions.

I think, fortunately for us, here in the US, we did stop the "him" that aspired to such madness.

But it was a close call.

No he doesn't - he's trying to equate things which are not even remotely equal, and are quite dissimilar.

And the comparison quoted above is even worse.
The methods are dissimilar in that one was violent and the other was not. But the intent of both were identical; to stop an official proceeding of a legislative body.

I don't like her or her policies. I think she does the Democratic Party and the country more harm than good. But it is a mistake to write AOC off as an "air head."

As a politician, she is brilliant. As a newcomer, she defeated a 10-term incumbent by 15 points, shocking the political establishment, and instantly becoming a national figure New in office, she quickly consolidated leftist sentiment and focused it for her benefit; gaining influence far greater than that of most other newly elected officials. She has great political instincts, leveraging very little into a lot. And the more the right attacks her, the more validated, endeared and strong she becomes to her leftist supporters.

Yes - there are a couple of dissimilarities:

1. non-violent vs. violent.

2. legal vs illegal .

But the intent of both were identical; to stop an official proceeding of a legislative body.

The Road to Hades is literally paved with all sorts of "bad intents" - the ones we're discussing here fall on the right side the short list I just made above.

AOC embodies the new radical socialist wing that has taken control of the Democrat party. She is physically attractive and photogenic, so of course the media loves her - especially the mainstream TV pundits. She is manipulative and does have good instincts that enable her to tell her fellow socialists what they want to hear, which of course makes her a good politician - especially at the local level. She also appeals to the youth segment of the population, as shown by her 13 Million Twitter followers.

However, she's far from being an intellectual. If you ignore the video and just listen to the audio or read transcripts of some of her nonsensical word salads, it becomes evident she's a shallow, appearance-oriented politician. For example:

“If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress, uh, rather, all three chambers of government: the presidency, the Senate and the House-in 2020. We can’t start working in 2020.”
Nov. 18, 2018, Instagram livestream

It remains to be seen how much staying power AOC and her fellow Marxist/Socialists will have, especially after witnessing the complete failure of the Democrat-controlled Biden presidency this past year. Her House seat in her NY district will remain safe for now, but considering her hostility towards Israel and anti-Semitic sentiments she's not likely to win any statewide races in NY. If the economy continues it's downward trend and the GOP takes control of the House in November, Pelosi will likely retire. We'll see then if AOC's socialist influence increases or if she falls from grace.
