I have no experience expediting that's why I wanted to ask you guys/gals about your work. Anyways, what does everyone think of a very light load <100lbs going 390 miles for $400. Good rate or no?

I would not even be able to stop laughing if I got an offer like that. Then again, we are TVAL, but I doubt if I would start a van for that.

It's an OK ( not good, just ok ) rate for a van. Stinks for a straight truck.

I would not take that rate in a van either. Went I rent out part of my life, I demand a LOT for it. My life is precious. closer to priceless. That's burger flipping money.

A lot of variables ...is that a one way rate..? Are you returning ( deadhead). On your dime..then it sucks....is load going to dead freight area..? Research Newbies section... A lot of these same ? have been answered there...

then you would starve...99% of carriers pay less then that....L

NO, I would not starve, I would be doing something else. My time, my life, is worth more than that.

SO many in here, myself included, tend to look at "how much per mile" or at "CPM", or "ROI", and we often forget what "WE" are worth. We need to quit selling our selves, which is what we are doing, for so little.

Most know what they need to make money on a run as far as the business is concerned, how many know what THEIR life is worth? As each minute passed the remaining time you have becomes more and more valuable, never forget that.

Joe....if one has a low CPM like around .30 or less that is a good margin of profit for a CV with their minimum investment.....unlike you with a large investment needs to see much bigger numbers....

It's ok just a tad lite, but is that 400.00 all in or does it have a FSC?

How many "DPH" is YOUR life worth? $25? $50? $3? The CPM is only a part of what we need to be looking at.

I believe that we are selling ourselves short. I KNOW I am, which is why I am not planning, at least right now, to buy a new truck. That is why I am looking for "other means" to support us. My time is worth FAR more than FDCC, the shippers, etc, are willing to pay. It is no longer worth it.
