It does seem funny. There are ALL kinds of these groups running around. What do that DO? Besides putting out reports that is.

Want to "fix" the environment? Just clean up your own yard. Join a conservation group that DOES something. Reports just waste paper. If they are written in ENGLISH they waste even MORE paper. It's all them extra "U"s that the English use!!

But what do they DO? I mean, I KNOW what Ducks Unlimited does for the environment. I KNOW what Waterfowl USA does. I have NO idea what this bunch does. I see a lot of fancy words. Words don't DO!!

Like I thought, report writing. I would be FAR more impressed if they picked up a shovel and did some WORK!! They don't DO, they TALK!! Lot's of fancy flow charts. NO REAL WORLD stuff. I sure hope that we are NOT wasting our tax dollars on this stuff.

Tut tut, now you know that is not true and that each Nations Government does its part to meet the requirements that they have all agreed upon at these meetings.

There is always some bureaucracy involved in these things - it is unavoidable where so many Nations are involved.

It is for the good of the planet and the future generations

Yeah, they will teach a new generation of numbskulls how to write useless reports and do NOTHING!! Sounds like high paid welfare to me.

Yeah, leaving a habitable planet buried in tons of reports. that is all they do.

Want to do something for the next generation? Find a way to eliminate the invasive species, like European mute swans, zebra mussels, etc that are in the process of destroying the native habitats of North America.

a lot of this is the global economy.....as in....ships dumping their ballast water in the St Lawrence and our ports....I welcome the push to make them empty out at sea before they get here...

Rail works. The locks themselves are a BIG part of the problem. They are what allowed the sea lamprey into the Great Lakes, along with the white perch and several other little nasties. No need for a water lane to the ocean. Close that one in Chicago too.

That would include the Ole Miss as well?
actually it just the ocean going ships coming in...we need to have them swap out their loads on the coast..and as I said...

The move to forbid the dumping of ballast water should be tight monitored...as it is now all the loaded ships have to dump to enter Lake Erie as it is so shallow...

Gold fish should be illegal as well...nasty...a member of the carp family

If I had my way I would be removing ALL locks and dams on EVERY river and stream in the country.

While no one will dispute that man has an "Affect" on the enviroment..but "destroy it!?!? I have often thought how arrogant some people are to think that man can destroy something that God created and has it "take care of itself" over time....

Conservation, sure...but beyond that it is nothing short of a money grab...as with most anything the Gov is involved in including the global governence of the planet, just follow the money.....Global Climate change AKA global warming is a scam and nothing more...as I said, follow the money, those pushing this bs are doing nothing but making millions...including the UN..oh and Algore....

I think English Lady may have misunderstood...I am all for DRILL that baby!!!! LOL.....but responsibly...we also have the knowledge to clean up any accidents and well look at the gulf...it is recovering faster then all the "experts" ever thought....Nature has a way to take care of itself...
