Come on let us move on from the judgement of qualified candidates based on the color of there skin and let us focus on the reality of our country and that is, (we really do need a change)

When the democratic party/media moves away from making everything a race issue on any issue, then the rest of the country will return to not looking at the candidates by the color of their skin but what they stand for.

I don't want to look at him as a black man, a green man or anything else but it is clear, this election is all about race, bringing up the past, forcing issues to be reexamined that should be closed and redefining the landscape of the country by guilt and by fear.

Greg you said the key words race and fear.. The republican party are in my opinion, running a Presidential Campaign based on "fear". Well that is how our young soldiers ended up in a war that will not end anytime soon.

It is half a dozen in one hand none in the other.. Come November we will see who is more popular with the people of our wonderful country. We are blessed to have the right to choose..

I read that bio on the prior page. He has never even held a job according to that. What on that bio qualifies him to be president? Color has nothing to do with it. I want to know if he has a criminal record. Same as anyone I would hire for any job. I want him to have experiance in Forgien affairs, Military affairs, running a large budget, running a large work force etc. I don't want to hear about the economy, not his job, no health care, not his job. How much experinace does he have in emergency services? Can I trust he with my life? Not based on that bio. It tells me nothing. I want the same background check that I went through when I got my clearences, to include a polygraph. I want a total check on his friend, like the guy that bombed police stations in te 60's. His relationship with Fericon etc. I think this man, regardless of color or in spite of it, is a radical subversive who has no belief in our constitution and our way of life. He will use deadly force here to acheive his socialist goals. He is dangerous. layoutshooter

dedicated1, not sure what that bio is supposed to say that's useful in making Obama look remotely qualified for the office. Certainly we need change however we do not need to convert to socialism and we do not need far more legislating from the bench and we do not need far more government control and taxation and we do not need far more government agencies and departments, and we do not need $8 gasoline and we do not need restrictions on how we can use our home a/c units and we do not need more 9/11's. All those things and many more are virtual certainties under an Obama presidency.

No, he can not do all those things alone but with the aid of fools like Schumer, Kennedy, Clinton, Gore, Soros and many others he can instigate them and he can rubber stamp them when they are sent to him.

We have been training good little socialists in our schools for years, PantherArt. They are writing our newspapers, our news shows etc. What do you expect? I was in a constant battle with my kids schools when they were young. One of them turned out ok, career military, the other, a flaming socialist. At least I was batting .500!!! Layoutshooter

The rest of the world is moving towards our former life style while we are going backwards.

You know that Mugabe of all people has been talking capitalism for the last year.

DO you also know that we have exported our way of life and attitude and at present, we succeeded to the point we are falling behind other countries.

As for what it was like 250 years ago, it was much better. I think if we had 60% of their thinking now, we would be so better off in most of the areas that we are crying about. The shackles were put on in the 30's and gotten bigger every election.

But maybe it's time to move on? ( I was said "change" )Things don't stay the same...and you/we will get left behind....I myself have been running a inconclusive poll with shippers and receivers.....MOST Americans WANT some form of National healthcare, They don't trust the insurance companies they don't want to lose thier car and house just for some ongoing injury or health problem...

National health? You mean like the corrupte Medicare and Medicade? What about our wonderful Social Security? (Socialist Insecurity) The Dems are the party that put what little was left of the trust fund into the general fund to hide how much they were spending on Viet Nam. Not that it mattered, congress had been wasting it for years. What about our roads? Want a health care system that matians your health as well as they do our bridges?
Don't trust the market? The insurance companies stopped paying for flood insurance. That would have forced people to move out of the flood plains and lower all of OUR costs. So what did our socialist congress come up with? National Flood Insurance. Now even more people live in flood plains and WE get to pay for them to re-build and then re-build again and again and again. The cost goes up, not down when goverenment gets involed. And by the way, these huge floods are inhanced greatly by the levi system. Until we bottled up the rivers the floods were a part of nature, re-charging farm fields with natural fertizer and new top soil. Read real history books on this, not the new garbage. Social Security is all messed up as it stands....BUT it would work IF it was changed.

Medicare and Medicaid....same thing ...past admins trying to give the people alittle of this and a little of that and not really being committed to making it work....BUT it will work or would.

A government to me is supposed to take care of thier citizens in the best manner possible...not just protect with the military and thats it...
Thru greed, corruption and ignorance some good programs are now garbage and almost unworkable.

That is the difference between the American spirit and the rest of the world.

The rest of the world used to and in many cases has been under the care of one form of government or another.

History has provided so many cases where the people were without rights unless they were given to them by the land owner, the lord of the realm or the king/queen. Your care, you purposeful existence was at the behests of the person or persons above you. If you were a common citizen of say France or England, you still have less rights than we do here but the trade off is to have the government take care of you.

The US stepped away from the idea of the government being the final stop and used only one concept that worked rather well for the first 150 years and still can work today, all the rights we have went from God to the people to the state government to the federal government in that and only in that order.

The sole purpose of the federal government was to ensure the safety and well being of the people and states and to regulate things between the states. If you doubt what I am saying, look at the place that took some of these ideas from us and used them, the Russian Federation.

Germany tried a democracy and failed, France has had how many governments since the revolution? And England is going to be fighting a war with the UN over its own monarchy. The US was and in many cases still is the only country where the common citizen has absolutely no allegiance to one person or persons as a requirement to be a citizen.

As for SS, it needs to be gone. Not saying cut it off but the economy and the people need to get this thing out of the way of real prosperity. It really drags the country down but the bigger issue is not the debt it has been running but the way it is run, Government does not run anything well enough to provide a consistent and meaningful service to the people. I say phase it out and let us, the people go back to a better system, controlling our own money and doing what we want with it.
