Now cruising around in the sleeper area while others practice blind side parallel parking
Memories!!! Sounds like you're enjoying the journey! Great!
The six other Students with me we're all men and every single time cracked me up when we were to do or learn something new....they'd say "Lady's First!"
That's okay, I was like a Mom/Guinea Pig and accepted it. I enjoyed the challenge of something new.
Have fun, ask loads of questions!

Oh my that hoarder lady must've been one hellatious trainer and driver lol. I'm now in a international 9200i that's an '02 model a little rough but seems mechanically sound. Engine area and all the stuff on Pretrip is pretty clean. Black Beauty is a pretty truck.
You'll never forget these days kickstarter6!
I loved my Truck! Thanks, she was a dependable, comfy old girl. Had to shut down in Fargo, ND that day at a small rest area NOT for Big Trucks. Next morning driving, a big truck ahead of me. 1/3 of a mile getting off on the same ramp as me starts up it and disappears. Ya, I crawl up the ramp and there he and his truck are down in a gulley, 60 yds. Deep, still upright and he's climbing outa the cab in his shorts. Yelled he was FINE!
I recall my trailer was empty and it's a blowing blizzard on the Pennsylvania Turnpike eastbound...I'm going 35mph, 4 ways on, far right lane like some other smart truckers, each going by the glow of their tail lights, can't see worth squat and the worst part was the Empty trailer losing it ever so slightly...decreased speed more on the declines. Man...the times you'll never forget. Not feeling your trailer and hoping she'll not come out beside you so you accelerate! And Drivers were flyin past me 60-70mph...then you'd see em Jack-knifed in the median.

I debated a lot about getting out before winter. I've seen my share of what you describe, and I shudder to think about it happening in a t/t. My 6 months comes in October. I can find something local, or wait until spring to start up again. But I have a few goals that call for me to stick it out. Not to mention, I'm not about to quit on the best company I've ever worked for. If one thing's for certain, they would be on my side if I thought something wasn't right. All I have to do is call, and tell them I'm pulling over. And for once, that's not just BS speak. That was told to me by a dispatcher.

Your Life, other's Lives is Paramount! Safety is #1.
They taught us to rely on your gut instinct. Form a Safety bubble around your Tractor Trailer and think of everyone in cars around you as your immediate family, grandparents, best friends etc.. Your duty to protect. Look way ahead, prepare way ahead, switch lanes way ahead. Back Off, ease up. Be considerate of others even if they are being dangerous.
You can't stop or switch lanes like a car. Rookies? Green? We've ALL been there. Be helpful, not judgemental.
If people would just allow some space around them, not speed, not tailgate, not be in a hurry and aggressive, in any weather except the extreme extremes, we'd all be fine.

Hooked a tiny little guppy Seville to East Liberty, hope this is not how the week goes!
Got my (lab rat) tests done today ...CT scan ..office visit ... insides looked better , but still slightly inflamed .. but can go back to the Road ...next CT scan and 2 different Doctor visits scheduled for Oct. 5th.. more on seedless Diet .. NO pickles or tomatoes (sorry Juju) sesame seed buns , nuts, strawberrys, grapes or watermelon with seeds , anything with a Hard to digest type of substance ... protein or fruit or vegetable shake drinks ... going to really miss my morning Strawberry/Bananna smoothie ... but I have already adjusted with the mental aspect of dealing with small changes in my lifestyle ....
Went back in service after 6pm ....:D

My life would be over on a diet like that!
