I was home nearly every night, didn't make much money but I was at home...:)

I seem to make my number each week and home most nights, I used to stay out years ago, made big money, built a house, paid off the house put 4 sons through collage, had all the man toys, now my ex- has them all, this marriage I will no fail at. And in just about 2 years to go till we retire. And I have a mileage limit on my deadhead home, 400 miles away and I'll stay out and give it about 24 hours before heading back. A few times it has paid off and got a load enroute.

Sent from the old truckers home.

I don't know if I will ever completely retire, but we are looking at being "semi-retired" within 8-18 months. Starting some SERIOUS networking at the end of the month. There are a LOT of people I need to talk with. Need to see my CPA as well.

Cheap day today. Bid 20-30. Win one. Glad half the fleet needed at least SOME sleep today.
Gonna kick it in by morning, I hope. :)

I will likely retire the way my great grandfather did: Drop dead at work. I see no alternative right now.

YES!!! Mondays have sucked for quite a while. No doubt. But we are the type of carrier to NOT take that as "okay" and we dig all day every day, trying as hard as we can to make our drivers as much as they want. It's difficult. Really. But that is our lot in life. We love it and think that our guys know we are always trying. We have a slight advantage due to our "margin requirement". That helps.

Wow, it is Tuesday.
Right after I got married I got a new license plate. C NILE
I then bought my wife. D NILE
The natural progression, as suggested by clownish big brother, was. P NILE

I quit buying vehicles, but I continue to get older.

Had to be a slow cheap day I didn't get even a bad call all day

Yeah. I just called back on one (in Taylor). Poster conveniently away from their desk. I sooooo wish these kids, posting their loads, had time to answer the phone. Oh well, such is life.
And it was a good load. No one negotiates any more. At all. At all.
It's eBay. Almost every time. Except for my favorite broker. To remain nameless.
LOL!!
