Absolutely not. Ron Paul would have spanked Obama. He's the only candidate who wasn't Obama-lite. Why elect Obama-lite when you can have the real thing?

If Romney, or Obama, are the best we have to offer in this country we are in REAL trouble. O'Romney and Rombama are BOTH losers. The only only ones who are worse losers are the American People. Putting candidates like these two on a national level ballot is a disgrace to the Nation.

Out of who they had in the primary, he was basically it. There either were issues with the others or they lacked the finances for a full campaign. That is something that the republican party is going to have to do some soul searching on.
Who would be the next person that would give them a fair shot at winning? I certainly don't have an answer at this point.

I think the RNC has written us off. According to them, we and our beliefs are losers as they seek to look, act and talk like Democrats in order to get elected-- and then they lose because there's no reason to vote for the look-alike when you can get the real thing.

No...there certainly isn't enough real conservatives. As for Ron Paul, if he couldn't get past Romney in a primary, he would have got trounced by Obama. When a candidate offers to cut a trillion dollars out of the budget in one year and offers no "gifts", he wouldn't last long as we see now by the results.

Well, you have a point there. I wasn't taking into account that the election was all about raiding the public treasury. I had forgotten that we had reached the tipping point.
