And only 7 people answered the question.
OVM who is in a Sprinter.
Greg who is on a dedicated run.
nightcreacher who is no longer with an expedite company.
John Clark who said what he pays, but not an all miles average.
davekc who is a fleet owner, and although he didn't list an all miles rate he did give enough numbers to calculate a rate.
Scuba who is in a tractor.
Golfornut gave some info that could be used to calculate an all miles rate.
To those that answered thank you.
To everyone else I can only assume by you silence that you either do not know how much you are getting per mile all miles, you don't think it's anyone else's business or the rate is so low it would be an embarrassment to post it on a public forum.

Theres soooo many different circumstances. A couple of my O/O's that come on here I will ask them to chime in and answer to the best of their ability. I would guess that straight trucks are $1.38 all miles average. Based on last week only. That does not include Canadian loads, which where much higher average. Oh, our heaviest load was 3,200lbs for last week.

Thanks John. Based on $1.38 a mile all miles, using your numbers of $1 per mile DH and $1.50 linehaul all in, one could extrapolate that you are doing around 22-24 percent deadhead. Which is probably closer to the industry standard than the 10 percent claimed by many carriers..

I was just looking at this web page http://www.express-1.com/Library/VP_Compensation.pdf on the Express 1 website.
According to this, if a D truck ran an 800 mile load with a 200 mile deadhead for a major customer, the truck would be paid the following.
800 miles x $1.12 = $896
100 miles DH x $.25 = $25 (first 100 miles are free)
Total pay for 1000 miles = $921 (or $.921 per mile) + FSC
Do they pay FSC on the DH miles?

That's terrible, why would anyone give 100 miles free?

LOL Did you see the start up cost? How many people actually got their refundable $ back?

And why is anyone paying weekily fees? I just can't wrap my head around that. And a $250 minimum E-unit? That
s crap

So with FSC of $.30 per mile on the 800 mile run, the total pay would be $1161 or $1.16 per mile.
am guessing that includes the 200 DH and all that stuff....ALL miles....loaded miles would be $1.42....still sad for a straight...

Two more E1 questions.
What's an annual processing fee?
(Don't tell me that the drivers have to cover the cost of the admin staff.)
What kind of road test? Truck, driver or both?

The processing fee was stopped this year....when the workers comp ins went up....

Both...just a ride around the block...

Greg, I've been driving for over 30 years. The company I just started with gives road tests to every driver recruit. This eliminates steering wheel holders.Their saftey record reflects on the testing policy.I have hired many co drivers and drivers over the years. After the CDL came out.most of the companies I've been leased to almost did away wit hthe road tests.Back before the cdl, everytime you went to a different company, you were given a road test. One time I asked why no road test to a company, answer was you got the truck here ok didnt you, their safety record relly sucked.

I can understand when licenses were foot loose and fancy free but now under our present system of licensing and the way insurance is paid for by the contractor, I find it ironic that a carrier would actually make someone drive their van (truck) to see if they can drive their van (truck).

Greg,I was surprized when i had to take a drivers test myself.Although, I did understand why, after they explained it,about their safety record.

Pretty sad numbers. Those look like numbers of dying a slow death. E1 is a profitable outfit but it appears they keep a lot more than they should. By the time you take the fuel out, they are running at essentially van rates. I gues that is why they refused to say in the recruiter section what their rates were on their new reefer division. Their recruiter gave some smart answer and would only say what it was if you called.
Guess there is a reason for that.
