Papa Johns Pizza cutting hours

This was actually the original stated plan. While campaigning for Mitt Romney Pappa John said that if Obamacare stayed in effect he would need to raise his prices by 20 cents per order. He was among other Republican business owners who made public statements against Obamacare to boost support for Romney.

Wow: 20 cents per order!!! No wonder he decided to cut his workers' hours - that 20 cents added to what's essentially a luxury item could be a deal breaker for a large number of customers, I bet. Or, he could just put one slice of pepperoni less on his pies instead - anyone remember how much the airlines saved by putting just one olive less on their salads? I forget the exact amount, but it was waaay high, multiplied by hundreds of thousands of olives, and they didn't get a single complaint over being chintzy with the olives, either. Win/win solution.
No, he chooses to penalize those who work for him instead, to make a political [not economic] point. Like the Chamber of Commerce folks who won't hire anyone because it might undermine their efforts to make Obama look bad, it's all about putting a political agenda ahead of the business.
Stupid, stupid people!

What do you mean when you say "the part many people don't get?"

What you said following this above is EXACTLY what that DonkeysRearEnd up there in the White House just does NOT get, or just flat out doesn't give a Rats Droppings about it.

I am saying the many don't understand or have exposure to how different businesses operate. They assume the corner beauty shop is raking it in like Microsoft.

You are trying to make it your business with the shots about having to sell a vacation home or how CEO's spend their money. You are for taking from the wealthy to redistribute however Obama wants under the threat of give us what we demand or we will take everything and throw you in prison. I haven't seen you take a conservative stance on anything yet and your comments display more than just viewing it from the other side, they are clearly your beliefs. Someone who is debating a topic debates it from their side not the other. Someone who is just considering both points of view doesn't insult people for being rich and say that as long as he is making profit that it will be good enough.

Humble doesn't need my help, but I'd like to say that if the concept of arguing a position opposite to your own beliefs is foreign to you, maybe you could try it sometime - it's good mental exercise.
It's also good to 'stir the pot' when it gets a discussion going, as opposed to a flamefest - just sayin.

Many just don't care. Their freebies are FAR more important. What they DON'T understand is that 100% of their freebies are paid for by those who WORK, RUN BUSINESSES etc. Keep killing profits and jobs will continue to be lost AND the businesses that produce those jobs will go away as well.

That is what it comes down to really. Whether it is Papa Johns, Hostess, or Pizza Hut. Just pick your poison. They either raise prices, layoff people, turn to just part-timers or close. And...it isn't just Obamacare. That is a part of many new and burdensome regulations that have a long lasting effect. Your just seeing the start of it. Look at the stock market and foreign investment.
Like anything....follow the money.

There is no reason to make a bunch of comments just to get people going, if you want to look at a situation from both sides then just do it. The pot needs no stirring by someone trying to aggravate people.

I have a friend here who owns a pizza shop. He is considering shutting down due to regulations and high taxes. He is building a place to move to as we speak.. ALL his employees WILL be out of work, thanks to government interference. How ya'll like your freebies and government controls! Your job is likely next!

There is no reason to make a bunch of comments just to get people going,

Sure there is, it's called sparking a conversation.
if you want to look at a situation from both sides then just do it.

He did. But you want it done your way instead - tell us again how you dislike people who force their opinion on others.

The pot needs no stirring by someone trying to aggravate people.

That's debatable [sorry, couldn't resist] but the fact is you're the only one who is aggravated - everyone else is having a conversation. Or two or three - as usual, lol.

Repeating the same incorrect conclusion over and over is the definition of insanity. :)

He made comments then claimed he didn't make them like everyone is dumb and cannot read, so there was no attempt to debate. He then proceeded to say other members are closed minded and infer that I am dumb. That is not the way to have a debate that will lead to any thoughtful consideration of both sides and is certainly not sparking a conversation.

I'm not aggravated yet, I just don't get the idea of the childish games. I am involved in other things here and doing research elsewhere, this conversation was one that I chose to participate in the others just stopped responding which is the best way.
