OVM,
Why should Ontario try to mandate how fast a truck can drive through west Texas? If I'm going too fast write me a ticket. I don't break the law in Ontario, and I like the option of going the speed limit wherever I happen to be. It's just more of the slippery slope getting slipperier.
This is a boon for the likes of Schneider. Kill the competition through legislation.

I think Michigan and New York should charge a $5,000 transport fee for every Ontario based unit when it enters their state loaded with freight.
These two states must put Ontario in compliance with the rest of North America.
I just want to make sure I got this right. Some lobbyists pays off some local politicians who then pass a feel good law that affects well over 100,000 truck drivers at a cost of several million dollars.
And it affects fewer of the citizens of Canada, than it does of U.S. citizens. And all because they WON"T enforce the laws that they have on the books.
I guess the next thing they will come up with is that if you ever owned a hand gun, you can't come to Canada.
I'm sorry but I will not allow a foreign bunch of bought off local cracker heads to determine the speed that I drive thousands of miles from their soil.
Out HOS suck, we did change without reguard to Canada. The only difference is there is no cost to drivers, money wise at least. If Canada wants limiters on my truck two things need to happen. 1. I have to be able to turn it off. 2. They can pay for it. Layoutshooter
