If you have time on this run, consider taking the Pacific Coast Highway for part of the trip. It's twisty in spots, but it's right along the coast. There's a beach along the way that is heaven for seals, otter, etc. The humans stay in the parking lot and watch the seals

This is a hot one, but did the Pebble Beach to Malibu before. However, thinking about seeing the Tar Pits for the first timeIf you have time on this run, consider taking the Pacific Coast Highway for part of the trip.
