No shouldn't have to...but stuff like what just happened to you has happened to a few of us....crap happens...about every 4-6 hours is good.....if no response...you'll know something is up...cheap insurance...

Something is happening in relation to o/s messages. Mac 23 has changed. No more giving a return time and date.

My QC quits talking and has to be rebooted before it will scan. The time GPS actually told me to turn left on the Little Miami river bridge the other night. Beginning to think Qualcomm itself needs rebooted!

yupper. always good to check. just dont want to start getting paranoid over it.

Always good to double check. About a 100 clickable links per page on our dispatch screens and too easy for someone to accidentally click one. Dispatch did have you out of service for one hour. We will ask the dispatcher that did it, but he may not even have realized. The joys of technology!

Wolfe, call Steve Briggs on Monday. I am not aware of any mac change, unless they starting tinkering with getting the service status to change from the qualcomm. He can also get the other unit swapped out.

Macro 23 has definitely changed. You go OOS with a reason code now.

Told Tim and Steve. I think mine is the only one that stops talking. I've had women do that before, so it's not unusual for me. The scan thing only seems to happen when I'm NOT at the yard. Hard to fix when you don't know what part is bad.

I saw the Mac message yesterday when I got home and went to send my o/s message. Seven choices. Can't remember them all but they included: Sleep, Repairs, Sick, Personal, etc. Check one option and hit send. No option to record back in service date.

Ok, I do remember they had talked about adding a reason field so ops would know. Not sure why the back in service field is gone, but I will check.

I am speculating there will be 2 distinct functions/macs rather then 1 as in the past, where all the problems were...

What!? Mr Truck Stop...LOL

I had no good internet aircard signal.Only 2g, which is not worth getting on for that, so slow. But, as things went that day, on the internet, maybe that wouldnt of been such a bad idea..lol..to stay there. But, it was alot quieter, except for the strange car that parked across from me flashing his headlights...until the police were cruising through the parking lot and I had a nice conversation with the officer about him...they got him!lol...

Other than that, had a beautiful day, enjoying the sunshine, and nice breeze! Then, I got a nice load, thanks to Caryn, picking up in Lexington, Tn, going to .......uh.....Laredo! I took it on the faith in dispatch that they will get me out of there in a reasonable amount of time, I am hoping...93 degrees here today...but, real nice cool sleeping weather at night, except for those famous trains going by the truck stops at all hours of the night, blowing those awakening train horns in what seems like all eternity..But, what a nice ride down highway 13 out of the Flying J, from Oak Grove, Ky, to 40 in Tn. So beautiful, colorful, through the country.I think I found my place to eventually live.

Alot of cheap rate companies down here otherwise, but alot of good sprits from other drivers for the most part.Word has it that lightning van drivers loading out of here for 50 cents a mile....The bad part of this is, that shippers will expect this kind of rate for us to take on the outbound..not good..
