First, you don't have any First Amendment rights on a non-government controlled, privately owned Web site. The First Amendment, and all the others, apply to governments, not private enterprises.

Second, when you post any picture that's larger than 640 pixels wide, you look like a dork.

Really Turtle? I guess I should have used the "sarcasm" emoticon. I didn't think I had spell it out, but for the record, I was being sarcastic. I thought if anyone would've gotten the sarcasm it would of been you; especially since it was in this thread where people were crying "censorship" and "1st Amendment rights" against Jaun Williams.

Second, when you post any picture that's larger than 640 pixels wide, you look like a dork.

Dork? Okay? Are you not able to read or view the picture I posted?

BTW.....resorting to name calling isn't very becoming of you Turtle.

I would have thought you'd get the humor in "dork" but I guess not. In either case, I never called you a dork, I merely said you look like a dork. There's a difference.

But while I can see the picture, only a sliver of the "QUICK" button in visible, and the right side of the text field is cut off to where, for example, where I say "The First Amendment, and all the others.." the "The First Amendment" part is cut off to show "The First Amendm"

In your last line directly below the picture, it reads:
"I don't like the fact that he w"

Rep Anthony Weiner is a democrat from New York so gee might he have an agenda? Mother Jones never heard of her or it? and the other source ???????

Or maybe because he is part of the "Committee on Energy and Commerce" wich includes the "Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection" and the Subcommittee on "Communications, Technology and the Internet".

Notice the subcommitte that includes Consumer Protection.

Forgive me, I don't get the dork comment.

Well, the picture is visible and that is most important if people take the time to read it and understand it. Then maybe they will understand why the investigation is taking place.

The last line about Chrisitie: "I don't like the fact that he was a lobbyist at one time."

Then call Goldline, tell them you want your 20 Franc French Rooster or your European Numismatic coins. You know, the ones that Glenn Beck buys. My Lord.

I guess my suggestion is, use Photoshop or some other graphics package and resize the dаmned thing. The same picture broke the browsers the last time someone posted it here, too. If you don't know how to resize an image, let me know and I'll walk you through it. Also, you hotlinked the image directly from Newser, which is bad form old chap (bad Netiquette), since every time anyone loads this thread it's stealing bandwidth from Newser. Not a big deal on small images, but that one is 637K, and just 40 views racks up more than 25 MB. Better to post a link, or at least copy the picture to a picture hosting site that is designed for this purpose.

1st I did not say I want to invest in Goldline(unless you want to loan me some money at a cheap rate:D) or that I agree with everything Beck says 2nd your sources Democrat in the house(Beck Republican/Independent what ever) and a liberal website. Nothing from CNBC (a liberal network for the most part) Do you have other sources ? like the BBB , or other groups that would normallly warn investors ?

Why would I need other sources???? Beck says these things in his own words. Go to YouTube and search Glenn Beck and Goldline and watch his commercials for Goldline. Call Goldline and see if they try and push "collectible" coins on you.

I collect coins and go to the coin collection shows once in a awhile I have some old money from other countries as far as Goldline would not base my decision entirely on what a Dem or a liberal website says I would check out other places but you seem to think your sources have no agenda I guess the cheap loan is out oh well

First can someone edit that picture, it is too ******** big.

second, Gold has always been the target product for people to make money on by inflating the value of it, beck is not the first one to push it and beside others, he won't be the last.

Gold is only as good as the value that the person who has the stuff puts on it - NOT THE value of the investment that was made into it. The egg explanation is the best one, I have the egg, you have the gold. I don't need gold but you need the egg. So one egg = one ounce of gold is a fair exchange. Wow $1600 egg, enjoy.

Back on Beck there Witness? Seems that fetish is getting the best of you. I don't know why you brought up the Goldline bit. Wiener is dead in the water with that. It was nothing but a political ploy.
I know little about Goldline and don't make any purchases from them. But if they are trying to push something less profitable to the consumer so they make more money, that isn't any different than the neighborhood car lot.
For what it is worth, Goldline is rated a triple A by BBB. If the Wiener wanted to go after gold dealers, he could have picked some a lot worse and easier prey. It was just a Beck fetish similar to what you have. Maybe you guys will meet in rehab somewhere.

Dave....C'mon you aren't that dense are you? Do you agree that Glenn Beck is a succesful radio and television personality? Do you agree that Glenn Beck has a huge following? Do you agree that he is a influencial personality? Do you agree that he is seen by a lot of folks as, someone you can trust? If you agreed to one or all of the above and you have that same individual telling you that the Government wants to take your gold, so buy collectible coins. And you have a company(Goldline) paying this person to say those things on T.V., radio, and the internet, knowingly trying to deceive, pressure, coerce, persuade you into buying collectible coins, and you have no problem with said entertainer or company? They are not trying to shut down Goldline, this is about Beck and the companies practices on trying to get people to buy something that will worth half what they paid for it. The used car analogy was a poor one, but if you were trying to portray Beck as a used car salesman, I would agree with that.

Sorry to pick on your boy Beck, but like I said, consider it a public service.

You should forget the "public service" and just go for the therapy.

It's a fact of the broadcast world that radio and TV shows have sponsors - Goldline is a sponsor for Beck. That being said, there might be some merit to buying some gold coins, whether they be Maple Leafs or whatever your coin of choice might be. An ounce of gold purchased in Jan of 2009 would have cost you a little under $900. Today it's worth about $1340 - not a bad return, especially when comparing it to a used car.
