Also TA and everything there on that corner torn down and big piles of dirt everywhere. Stopped on Lexington va at the WH. Now getting ready to hit it hard going to Boston ma for tomorrow morning del. Hoping to get something out of there to keep the week going.

When I was with your carrier I went out 90 to Chicapee....there is a truck friendly Walmart supercenter, nice area and you can get back to Boston Area and hit Hartford as well....Tri-angulate!

Got home last night. New Gas Line from the Main in. Meter moved from basement to exterior.
Removed my water heater insulation blanket and saw it was manufactured in '91.
Umm, VERY glad my new W.H. be in soon and installed! So it's 24 years old and online says they usually last 10-15.
Been very lucky then!

Anybody out there into Trannys? My 350 3.5 Transit does NOT recommend changing fluid and filter before 150K. I was planning on 75K? Any opinions on mechanical flush vs. Drain & fill?

My dealer recommended trans fluid change at the 60K checkup. Could just be trying to earn more shop labor! We're not that hard on transmissions, I'm going to wait and follow the Transit owners manual recommendation.

I was reading an article that simple testing has saved some firefighters from heart attacks. I wish they would make drivers go in for echocardiograms to be scanned for possible heart issues. It is only a 200 dollar test and it can find a lot of problems before they become an emergency. Also, diabetes screening is a good thing to have the drivers do. Most of us men do not go to the doctor for any reason. I wish the trucking industry would band together and do more in the way of preventative testing for drivers. My condolences also go out to Steve Seth and his family. He is a real professional and a true hero for keeping his truck in control while under extreme duress. More of these stories of heroism need to be shown to the public; not just the videos of drivers peeing in parking lots.
Simple 81mg aspirin once each day is great preventative for clogged arteries anywhere in the body. Even if no previous heart problems, the trucking lifestyle and diet can lead to blockages, then attacks and strokes. Of course, prior bleeding problems and other factors might have to be considered but very cheap prevention. Ask your Doc.

Yep, my Primary Care Physician and I agree. She said with my sedentary profession, blood pooling in the legs, plus age of 57, I need to take one 81 mg. aspirin daily. Ecocariagram showed no issues, great blood pressure....apparently, this is prevention. What I've been doing is cutting them in half, so 40 mg. Daily.

We had a shudder at 47k and dealer flushed tranny....it helped but on second thought we rather wish they had changed filter as well...now at 65k+ seems ok.

I used to get swollen ankles all of the time when I was driving. If you are worried about blood pulling, you can buy a pair of 20/30 MMhg compression socks. They will force the blood out of your feet and calves back up to your heart and prevent it from pooling. I'm going to wear them when I come back out on the road. I am as protected as anyone can be from blood clots and heart attacks now that I am on blood thinners, statins, and Metformin which is known to have protective properties for the heart. Most people never think about their health until something happens to them. I still ignore stuff. I get bouts of left-sided chest pain and I have a few borderline EKG's for left ventricular hypertrophy. I need to get an echocardiogram myself. I don't really fear death anymore. What I do fear most is disability. When you survive a catastrophic medical event/trauma, sometimes you remain severely disabled for the rest of your life.
