March Locations and Nonsense...HAHA

You're in a 3-skid Sprinter sitting in Petoskey, MI after delivering a load. You're hoping to get loaded out of there.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, an entire army of dispatchers is huddled around computer screens and burning up the phone lines, all in a dedicated effort to find you a load.

Lo and behold they come up with four possible loads. One is a 1-skid load, two are 2-skid loads, and one is a 3-skid load. They bid on the 3-skid load because hey, might as well load it full, and they can probably bid it higher, and in the words of one nameless dispatcher, "Who would get a Sprinter that can't hold 3 skids?" (spoken like someone who has never had to sleep three days while loaded on a Friday pickup for Monday delivery that's going 230 miles)

They get the load and you get your 3-skid load, and you think, nay are utterly convinced, that you got loaded out of there solely because you can haul 3 skids, and believing that a 2-skid Sprinter would have sat there never having gotten a load. Twenty-Five Percent, baby!

In reference to Guido's Laredo episode, I was once on the other end of that, where a 2-skid Sprinter below me on the board got a 3-skid load going to Memphis, and I didn't get a load. He even giggled and noted that that's what I get for only being able to haul two skids.

An hour later I got one skid to Newport-News, VA. Oh, well.

On a happier note :p I got my new battery and the beast is ALIVE! I always thought my battery was rather small to begin with. But what did I know, it's an older Sprinter and it was working fine. Turns out the dealer or someone must of slapped any old battery in it just to get it to run. I'm surprised it lasted this long. Fitted now with the correct battery, which btw is twice as big as the little one I took out for comparison

My positive post for the day :)

With the addition of this months safety points, the 50,000 points for winning the drawing + the points I had accumulated prior....I ordered myself what looks to be a real nice Samsung 32" flatscreen. It will be my next addition to the van next trip home. Thanks Load One!!

Of course it's rare when your sitting there with them, letting them know which loads you want to be offered. It has happened in the past...so it would be hard to believe it doesn't happen now. There are plenty of ways to game the system.

I prefer facts too. I propose that we do some research. I would like to see how many 1,000+ mile loads the avg contractor ran in 2012 compared to the contractor with the most 1,000+ mile loads in 2012. If there is as much of a discrepancy as I think there is, the connection between that contractor and dispatch needs to be looked at. After all...it's all fair. There is no preferential dispatch or anything like that going on.

Lol like I said keep talking an rambling because your facts are rumours and your rumours are wrong...If I picked all of my loads I'd never go to Tennessee or ky or run short loads in Michigan or Ohio lol keep going this is quite funny...lol

On a side note, the load was to Hebron ky. Todd is in cinci where is 6 on the cue...at least that's what he told me, so I said I don't wanna be 7 on the cue...dispatch says I don't see them thanx and hangs up.

Two bucks a mile no problem!!

That only happens for you evidently. I have to use a bit more caution. Ran a load like it once and got 70 clams...or how about 311 miles w/87 mile dh for 212 pesos..
No, now I am going on the defensive...done screwin around.:banghead:

My god. Have your cell battery die and all heck brakes loose. As for the two or three bid statement.....based on supply and demand we would generally have a better shot at winning the three pallet load due to supply and demand ratio. As well we can generally bid a better rate as well.

I don't think I can leave you kids without a sitter in the future! My goodness.

If that was the case you should have went up the management chain to have that looked at???

Actually I do not call to negotiate, however I have since learned to ask before receiving. :)

Come to think of it, I do not call dispatch, beg them for loads, remind them where I am or tell them how long I have been sitting....
Hmmm perhaps I am too droll?:D
