Load1 Location and banter accepted

As Steve and Ken have said, the upsides of signing with Load 1 is nothing short of great....from John to the Admin staff to the dispatch, all work to make Load 1 and we contractors a sucess.

We also have made more money with less miles then we would have with our previous carrier. While the yr was on track to be a good yr, moving over to Load 1 has turned it into a great yr both from the finanical side and the business attitude side...Contracting with a carrier that is small enough to know us and large enough to keep us making money is something that when you experience it, just makes you smile and want to work that much more...I truly enjoy what I do, but doing in with Load 1 as a partener, well it just makes it all that much easier....

I am looking to make 2011 a great yr and with Load 1 as a partener, I have no doubt that will happen..

Thanks John and all at Load 1, you and your efforts are recognized and appreciated.....

PS: yea there are "warts", but the pluses FAR out weigh the warts, and as the Expediting side of Load 1 grows, the warts are and will continue to be less of an issue...

Well I am far from a humble guy, but thank you to all of you. I can only hope that we try as hard as you guys do everyday. This is far from a perfect business and so much of it is beyond any of our control, but I hope we manage the parts we can well.

I hope all of you have a happy, healthy and financially successful 2011. I hope that you and your families have a wonderful holiday season and be safe out there!

So I start the day at 0600. Left from Beaverdam, OH to deliver a load to Fort Wayne. During my Pre Trip, I notice I am walking on an ice rink. Jump onto Rt. 30 west and spent the next 90 minutes watching the semi trailers changing lanes before the tractors did. Managed to arrive on time and got unloaded.

I had called Don Bentz and made an appointment to have him look at my inverter since it has been erratic lately. I was headed there when dispatch called with a load, so that ended that, or so I thought. I jumped on Rt. 24, same ice rink I was on before just with a different number. Halfway to the pick, dispatch calls and says the load cancelled. Credited with a dry run. Headed back to Fort Wayne to keep my appointment.

The tech is checking out the inverter while Don is telling me that these inverters never fail. Tech walks up and says that the inverter is bad. Hello Murphy. During all this, dispatch calls with another load ready now. Not having the time or $1100, I bade Don goodbye and headed to the pick.

Made the pick and headed to the drop. Dispatch calls again. Would I be interested in a load for tomorrow? Turns out the drop is 30 miles from my house. I believe I can handle that.

So, me and the rolling salt lick (truck) will head home tomorrow. Ya gotta love these dispatchers.

Made it home last night no problems. Got to spend a little time at Taylor in the morning wishing everyone Happy Holidays, while munching on the goodies that were everywhere. Saw Mr. Snappy who looked very "Snappy" in his new shirt and jacket with the Load 1 logo on them. Also saw TJPOhio44 who looked, well... like Todd. Didn't see John anywhere, but wished him "Merry" by email.

Truck going in Monday to get some work done as well as a PM, so I'm done for the year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all on EO.

Sorry, I missed you. I had a doctors appt and got in late that morning. I am done for the year as well. On vacation next week and going to see out of town family. Maybe I will run into Guido!

Glad to hear you're taking a break. You certainly deserve it, but I doubt the phone will be turned off.

Sorry I missed you as well, but we'll hook up after the first of the year and I can make another attempt to buy you lunch. Of course, the day you finally give in I probably won't have any cash on me.

I am thinking of returning the 3rd or 4th of Jan...but also looking at the week of the 10th...JuJu says I can take the whole month off..but I'd rather take the time in the spring to get the garden in...JuJu got stuck with much of that work last year..

I'd look forward to that, but I dont want to take away from youre time with your family, either.I'm sure youre enjoying the weather here as well as I am! Been bouncing back and forth between the truckstops and walmart, to the south..Too noisy at the truckstops! and a terrible aircard signal up there, as well..
