We do have caller I'd but we would need to remember a million numbers as cell numbers ce up as just the number.
I understand. But, I would think that even among a million numbers, if someone wanted to avoid a particular number they could remember it in order to avoid it. Especially since so few Load 1 drivers have the same Area Code as mine, those first three numbers stand out if you're looking to avoid them. So it would be easy enough to pick mine out of a million calls at just a glance, if one were to be actively avoiding it.

He saw it twice yesterday, associated "avoid this guy" with the number. That gets reinforced this morning with an e-mail telling him to call me when he gets in. Avoid, avoid, avoid. At the end of his shift he's patted himself on the back for successfully avoiding this guy. Then, suddenly, just as he's about to go home, the unthinkable happens. The phone rings, he sees the Caller ID. AAARRRGGGG!!!! Panic! QUICK! Put on HOLD. "Here, take this. Tell him I'm not here. I've never been here. You never saw me! You don't know if I'll ever be back!"

I crack myself up. :D

I dont want to pile it on and I would struggle trying to come up with specifics, so I'll just say this...I have experienced some of the phone tag, put on hold...then magicly disconnected (2 or 3 times), "I dont know what it pays yet", etc, etc issues.

I have no idea how long the problem has been there, but I have seen quite a bit of it actually....could probably be narrowed down to a couple specific names pretty quickly.

AND to keep it from being a bashing party. Most of our dispatchers are great and Im happy to work with them.

I honestly don't think that is what happened. You don't even know if Jamie sent him an email, which at this point it appears she did not. He should have had you bring it to the yard.

I respect the right to call a dispatcher out but channels and chain of command should be followed. If a dispatcher called a driver out on here for a driver mess up I would come down on them hard. I think the facts should all be ascertained before a public trial.

Brandon called with a load heading to Laredo delivers Monday. Glad to be moving. But I think I tweaked something in my lower back it hurts to take a deep breath and walk. Might be when I stepped out the van last night and about went face first out the door. Pretty bad when you trip getting out a vehicle.

Ouch!! Good thing it delivers Monday in case you need some time with that back. I would suggest grabbing a bottle of Aleve. I have been having some back problems myself and a good, regular dose of Aleve seems to work very well.

His chances are probably better out of Laredo...kinda surprised he had trouble he had trouble gettin out of EP. The weather was somewhat decent in Laredo a couple weeks ago.

You're right, I don't know whether or not she sent the e-mail. She said, "I'll send him an e-mail," and I have no reason to doubt her word. Or at least I didn't at the time of her saying that. Now, apparently, I have reason to, although I really believe it's nothing more than a case of her getting distracted and forgetting about it. I can forgive that easily, especially since she had just come on shift and didn't know the first thing about any of it.

He should have had you bring it to the yard.
He should have called me back. His deception notwithstanding, once I affirmed that I would take the load, I'll stand by my word on that issue. I wasn't calling to have it offloaded, or get more money, or anything else other than to find out why he omitted key information at the top, and to voice my displeasure and disappointment that he would do so. Him not calling me back only compounds the issue.

Fact is, he made no mention of the delivery date and time when he called me about the load. Fact is, he said he would call me back twice and did not do so either time. Fact is, I called this morning a few minutes before 11AM to talk to him and was told wasn't there today, yet he was there today. Fact is, I attempted to deal directly with the person whom I have issues with, an experienced dispatcher who knows what he is doing, and he deflected each attempt. Fact is, prompted by Dreamer's post above, I wondered aloud if these incidents involved the same dispatcher, and I recounted my incident out of frustration of being blown off more than once.

He was there. But he was only scheduled to 11.

Trust me I ALWAYS address issues. I was at a charity golf outing and had plenty of emails and phone calls about this and other issues. Now with that being said my golfing abilities are bad without this extra help.

Either way. I am still a great believer in chain of command. Especially before someone is publicly called out. I respect free speech and have never tried to influence my people's ability to post. But I will still say that some things should be allowed to be addresses first.

all of my contact with Jamie has been great...she is doing a really great job!!!
She worked through a problem with me a while back...you could tell that she was under pressure and needed to be doing something else, but she barely let it show. She stayed on the phone with me very patiently and professionally until the issue was resolved. Very polite and very effective. Honestly 90% of the dispatchers I have ever worked with could learn quite a bit from Jamie.

i have someone who routinely calls with self soothing complaints and is deflected to the chain of command. which, since i never hear more about i assume never gets done.

one thing for sure turtle, john will get to the bottom of it.

this is why we get all info up front. just makes it easier and keeps problems from arising.

Mine sat over a week as well while at home last time without being started. It started perfectly.Keeping all connections on the whole vehicle clean and protected is good insurance against future problems.Besides, Ken, everything on you're van is new!!!!! lol..Slop buckets...well, I oughtta....

Yes, this girl is awesome! As well as the rest of the dispatch team.I had one of those "Hurry up and get it there" loads that was "hot".Got to the consignee, and locked up tighter than a drum. After a few calls, and thinking of ways to sleep on top of the freight, she calls back with another address to deliver to, a few miles down the road.Turns out it was another plant of the consignee, and they were the one's actually needing the parts, but the people in Pa put the wrong plant address on the BOL.The guy and I had worked together to get it unloaded, as the skids collapsed from the weight during the trip..but, we got er done! Odd thing was, the heaviest load, this one was, 30# away from my max, was the cheapest paying load....lol... but, it all came out real good in the end.Jamie was excellent during the whole thing. As far as pay goes, for a load, I still trust them, and don't question it too much, based on the fact that my average pay per loaded mile always comes out excellent, for the week or the month.I figure I have to take the bad with the good.It all comes out in the end. It's all good.
