also at home. dispatched on a trip for a wedding tomorrow in cour d lene id. back monday next. in service soon after.
Started in Nashville today on a load to Laredo. Did everything textbook, got to the shipper at midnight spent the night in their parking lot so I would have my full 16hrs (panther rule). Left at 08:15am and was rolling good. 10:30am got the infamous load swap beep. Swap out in Little Rock. 372mles of a 1122mile load. Nice way to start the week being bent over......but it gets better. Not only was I ahead of my schedule (had to shut down at 00:30am for my "5hr break", I got the load offer friday night and deadheaded 200miles to sit the weekend to wait for it today. I should be south of San Antonio right now but I am in Missouri instead, but it gets better..... The guy who swapped I swapped out with was a total slob. I dont know what was worse, he reeked of urin (thats human urine) or his BO. His van had crap from one end to the other. Wrappers and crap on the dash and so much crap behind the seats that the forklift driver had to literally smash his belongings (his cot, clothes, bags of whatever, a microwave, an ac unit, dishes, and a small tv) to get the the second pallet in the van. The guy literally had to slam the back doors to get them to shut. The look on the forklift drivers face said it all. WTF??? On top of that I had to wait for this piece of work for 2 1/2 hours. Nice one there carrier.......you are really REPRESENTING yourself good there. Needless to say it was the straw that broke the camels back, I promptly called the owner I drive for and gave him my 2 week notice (which was coming anyways). So 2 weeks and I'm outta here. Might come back this fall, I just never know with my ventures. Ok I am done venting, , hope everyone is being safe and respectable......
I sure am glad I walked out of their orientation after 45 minutes there.Too many lies and b.s. Glad I am where I am at.
You had to swap a van load from Nashville to Laredo?
In a van is is easy to run a phantom co-driver. I did it for a while with E1. Just have your spouse sign up then stay home.
The key is make sure that you have a set of womans clothes with you to change into fast. I also carried her phone with me and would only answer it with my lady voice. It is also smart to sometimes wear the lady clothes and sign her name at some shippers or receivers. I do miss those black pumps, with 4 inch heels.
