that is about right IF the carrier can't negotiate a safety break...

Some folks need those safety breaks, even after 300 miles, and....and.... after sitting for 4 days......R I G H T ?!!

Safety is most important, who wants a tired, sleepy driver out there anyways? Would you?...huh, huh...would'ya.

Was there a breake in the load, yeah there was a break in the load I was told to shut down at 00:30. So you figure it out, leave at 08:15 you have 24.25 hrs to to go 1108 miles (pd 1122miles) So now we minus the 5hr break gives 19.25hrs to do the trip. I was pulling off the highway (which the exit was along the rout I had to take to get to Laredo) at 13:45pm, 372 miles away. So thats an average rate of 68mph to 70mph. So 16hrs at 68mph is 1088. You still have 3.25hrs of of "play time" for city highway congestion, fuel stops, and any other delay. I dont drive a CV around the country to dink around and sight see. I drive a CV to take loads from A to B to make money.

Just the way dispatch looks at things..if you are 85 miles from pick up you are 2 hours away...so the the closer truck gets the load....NO common sense is applied..

Well...things have been busy for me lately. Started off last week with a load going from Charleroi, PA to Waterloo, IA for 699. Got another from Washington, IA to Trenton, MO for 176. Then got a load Chillicothe, MO to Orange, Tx for 830. Sittin near Houston, got a load from Houston, TX to Worland, Wyoming for 1565 miles. Here's some pics from Wyoming Wind Canyon which US20 follows. then got a run from Omaha, NE to Forest City, NC for 1,069 miles. Then a 20 mile mini which gave me the first out....from Greenville, SC to Liberty, SC. then a run from Forest City, NC to Milwaukee, WI for 769 which got switched out in Indianapolis. So here I sit been the same board position #6 all morning and nothing is moving.

We got home yesterday. This morning the truck goes into the shop for our 6 month reefer maintenance. I am hoping to get some fishing in over the weekend if the weather holds. Then Sunday, Father's Day, with by Dad and then back at it on Monday.

1630 miles for the week leaving me in the Florida panhandle. I don't think I'll get much more from the week from here. Probably head somewhere not so warm if nothing comes up by tomorrow.
