I've got friends up here I've been staying with. I got a load out of Boise just a few hours after I delivered that one I took there from L.A. I should get something from around here Monday, hopefully headed in an easterly direction.

Yesterday was the day from hell. x3
1.)arrived at UPS Freight at 8am for a pickup to be delivered down to Decatur, IN, when I arrived gates were closed and locked. Called the numbers on the gate and central dispatch informed me no UPS freight terminals are open on Saturday, just the main hubs, so I called my local Ceva contact and told him what I found out. He must have been asleep because after telling him the terminal was closed he said "so they won't let you pick it up? LOL
2.) Went down to Fort Wayne International to drop off a package I had picked up the night before. Get to the Northwest counter(which is now Delta) So I had to fill out the new paperwork, problem was I had a Northwest account number and needed a Delta account number, so I caled my local contact again, he was able to get me a new number about 30 minutes later. Luckily, the package didn't miss the flight, but was there for an hour and a half.
3.) I had a treadmill swap(first one was damaged) So I get to Defiance, Ohio and the new treadmill box looked like it was dropped off the back of a truck a few times. Of course they Wanted to open box and inspect it, turns out this one was damaged too. Why can't shippers pack these items better? A 400 pound treadmill in a thin cardboard box with only a 1 inch thick piece of stryofoam on the heavy end and all the piece just thrown loose in the box(come on!!!!) So now I have two broken treadmills and all the pieces on the back of my truck
Well, at least I got paid for all the delay time and dry run, but I hate days that don't go smooth, feels like I just wasted my time yesterday

Sittin at home since 3 pm sat, 3rd out ithin 100 miles of toledo.. had dinner with my youngest daughter at a mex place last night, french toast for brunch a few hours ago, and am heading to the grocery in a bit to pick up a nice rump roast for dinner...if dispatch doesn't call by 11 am monday, its off to chase the freight and head to chicago.....

I always like an excuse to stop there in Anthony. 30 years ago I was the pastor of the Baptist Church on the New Mexico side of town, and it's always fun for me to be there again. It hasn't happened often, but enough.
