I think the majority of owner/ops are a pretty disciplined group. Of course the smaller a fleet the easier it is to be picky. As for waiting for pay that's an informed decision one has to make on their own, some may consider it to much of a gamble.

True. Except at CRE we would eat the invoice, not the driver. Sally pays drivers on real late ones all the time. Then she just stays on the broker to pay us. Not the driver's problem. It's our issue. Although we haven't had to eat ANY yet.

My smallest lightest load ever was way back in my cat days. One regular size mailing envelope.
I felt like the mail man

My smallest was 5 labels that a warehouse forgot to stick on the 5 skids they had just expedited a few hours before. 5 labels. 5"x7" each. Morehead, KY to Chicago, IL.
$1.35 per mile. And I was shaking my head the whole way there!!!

Shortest drive was 0.8 miles.

I recently had a real short run. I could see my destination a block away from where I was loading. It was a Saturday, no one around, and the plant needed some parts moved over to its other building. Longest part of the run was figuring out how to get their bay door open that their driver ran into that morning causing it to not open. After using my idea of using a high low to raise and hold the door open, while the other one loaded me, I was off on my long journey. OSHA would have loved this one ;)

Bingo. Bingo. Bingo.
That's the ticket!!

It only took 5 years to happen, but someone finally publicly hit the nail on the head.

CRE would be SHYTE if it weren't for the fact that the disciplined, self managing, patient, well prepared, entrepreneurial drivers better fit CRE.

I don't TELL interested drivers they need to be that way. But the ones that match seem to be better prepared and a better match.

AGAIN, thank you TEAM CRE!!!
