RE: How many of us are hauling at reduced rates an
I am also with TranStewart and what rollinthunder is about right, but I gotta add that I am always asked is the rate ok to bid at, if an area is slow moving it may be at the lower end. I have been offered help on DH but stuck myself by accepting loads a little too far out. And I had to eat the DH to get back in a Lane.(Only been with TranStewart since Sept.06 so had to learn their freight lane). And while I do miss the 1.35+ I was getting at that large company (for 8 months) I got hurt bad because I was not moving.
And yes I did it all by the book, had reserve cash, just about took every load offered, had very good numbers. And now at this point trying not to loose my truck + the all the other personal finances that took a hit from me sitting. I had to make a call on what to do next
Now I know there are a lot of factors to consider, and changing carriers is a big decession to make but I had to. My only regret is that TranStewart was not taking on trucks when I was looking.
So as far as running at a reduce rate I guess it depends on your situation. I left other experditor's sitting at truckstops, just to return 3 days later and they are still sitting there????
GIVE ME THEM MILES
