I use both propane and gen. If I am just grabbing a nap for a couple hours I'll light up the propane without having to get out set-up the gen and chaining it up...

i am keeping the honda to power a room ac unit this summer and to power electic blanket and bed warmer when extreemly cold. i have decided no roof ac unit. do to cost, and so i can remove it for winter ill store it in one of my tool boxes

Not too often but every once in a while i think i need to cut back on those items....right now i have (2) 20 lb propane tanks and a total of 10 gallons of gas in the back....

i will always have honda and gas can. one of these days when i have time ill get a tv. gas can also for those times i miss judge fuel stop distances

I ran into a fellow All-State driver that has a Honeywell generator that is similar to what ovm has for 450.00 on e-bay. It was just as quiet, and the same size/design as a honda,but no electric start.But I know Honda is the best you can get, in my opinion.So someday,I will have a Honda.

His van is also an ex-government van powered by lp gas. Chevy 3500. Real interesting.Nice guy.

no room to repost there so let me add......

alt method 1..use a shelf bracket into the bumper hitch. add 4 nose wheels from a boat trailer(the crank kind) and crank the wheels down to move the shelf when loading. this fella had his gen chained to the shelf and the chain welded down. might even work at the dallas j.

alt method 2..saw this at the expo last year. box van. had the gen inside the box mounted between the wall and the wheel well. this fella had added a second fuel tank under the truck(ford e350) and fired the gen from the gas tank. gen had to be started from inside the box. exhaust was vented outside. very unstealable even at the dallas j.

Why not get one of those metal gas cans(Jerry cans), the kind you see on a offroad jeep and mount it to the outside back of the van, so you don't have flammables inside the van? I've never liked having gas in a vehicle with me.

dakota i store mine in tool boxes under truck. so no fume issues.
i had a 20 propane tank but i think law enforcement may give me a hassle over it (tunnels). yes OVM, i will be hauling a gas can. besides last winter i had problems finding places to refill my tank. i bought mine new i did not want to exchange tanks of questionable quality (leaks).
