You may be right. The right to offer per diem is up to them. But when their drivers are specifically told 4 to 5 times they are entitled to it and then when it comes time to pay it make up some excuse to get out of it that is low. And also I agree you need to be looking for other employment if you cant make it out there. But when drivers are told one thing and the exact opposite happens, it is not the drivers fault. If you cant count on your owner then who can you count on? Trust is a major issue in this business.

Sir..trust has been an issue in trucking since the horse and buggy days....there is a long history of carriers screwing over drivers and even drivers scrwing drivers and carriers doing each other...there is nothing new there...
These guys and their shady companies move around with near impunity...and mostly it is us drivers fault....most drivers O/O's neither have the time nor the resources to hold these guys accountable....it is a bad cycle...

If it is not in writing a PROMISE means nothing...no value...Now IF you all had contracts that laid the pay schedule all out.....the next question would be....
Have any filed a small courts claim?

One example is the contracts says they pay for all fuel costs. This is far from the truth. If they are paying the national average which right now is $3.64 a gallon (this has been the cost for for over a month and they are still paying only 35 cents a mile which equals out to $3.50 per gallon) Gas from New York to california with the exception of the southern most states is over $4.00 a gallon. So You have the decision to run out of gas or pay out of your pocket and you ARE NOT reimbursed the difference. Im sure these "crybabies" are extremely upset with this considering every load they take is costing them money. Would you be happy if you worked at Mcdonalds and they told you before you start your shift you have to pay us 20 dollars or you cant flip our burgers. I THINK NOT!!!!!

Ever heard of the INDIVIDUAL taking responsibility?......IF this business or more specific carrier isn't paying the bills....Get the heck OUT of it! LEAVE...GOODBYE....Don't blame anyone but yourself for trying to hang on to this God forsaken thing we do here. As easily you chose to get into this you can leave the same way....to be CLEAR I am addressing anyone and everyone that is bi!ching about this business, just not Cbox here....

Agreed. I think too many people see this business as an easy way to make money. They talk to some van driver in a parking lot one day and are told tales of milk and honey.. They get it in their head that this is going to be child's play and great days of untold riches await them at the end of the rainbow. I think it's time to tell the truth about what this business is really like.

It's like being a little kid who finds out he or she is going to the zoo, then gets there and is immediately grabbed by the ankles, turned upside down and dangled over a tank of snapping alligators, just above their snouts, and pulled away just in time, before they bite your head off, over and over again. It's like a big game of musical chairs where when the music stops, you, more times than not, find yourself standing there instead of sitting down, except, when you don't squeeze into a seat at the last minute, 4 or 5 times a week, you lose your house! You go home ( to somebody else's house because you don't have one anymore) for a few days. You say to yourself when you get there: I'm done with this! 2 or three days later you are jonesing to get back on the road and do it all over again because the cupboard is bare and you can't seem to sit still, and you have convinced yourself it will be different this time.... bringing us back to Do re me..... oh!

She has not stirred up anything that has not already been stirred up. She is simply expressing what is being relayed to her by several drivers

I am not directing my speech to you....just saying...you make valid points, BUT until those who do get screwed start taking these guys to the courts each and every time it will continue....

Understandable. Responsibility needs to be taken. By everyone. You do not go to mcdonalds and pay them out of your pocket to flip burgers so why should the drivers pay out of their pocket to take a run especially when they havent had a paycheck that week.. It would be almost impossible. Just because the driver is giving them a chance to make things right doesnt mean they are totally to blame.. It says something for the driver when they dont give up on the company right off the bat

Maybe the driver should be commended for not giving up so easily until they absolutely couldnt take it anymore.. Maybe they were waiting for that most oppurtune offer to come along so they didnt go to another company and have the same thing happen. Im not ragging on anyone specifically but Im seeing a lot of blame put the drivers.. Why is this. All these drivers want to do is sustain a career. Sitting is part of this job and everyone on here knows this. I know with multiple drivers this is a fact that is understood. But when things are promised and then not fulfilled where does that become the drivers fault.

Current or former employer or not, naming names or not, hearsay or not, when you say something defamatory about someone or a business entity, something that maliciously or damagingly misrepresents the person or entity and cannot be supported by facts, that's libel.

At this point you're on your own. But if you start mentioning names or getting specific without any supporting evidence, then you're dragging EO into the mix, making them complicit in the accusations. I wouldn't recommend you do that, 'cause it'll get moderated appropriately (and then people'll whine that we're protecting advertisers or some crap like that. :D)

Sorry turtle, I personally know people there and I let my emotion sway my judgement sometimes, I do apologize

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

I've been fortunate to have never been with a company that blatantly ripped me off. But, when I've been with a company that wasn't to my liking, I left. It is just that simple. I doubt that anyone is being forced to stay there. If a driver chooses to continue to put up with any kind of situation that isn't to their liking, then it's on them for not moving on.

Well put, I just despise that companies promise the moon but deliver nothing, I know there are a lot of owners out there that do just that and I think others need to be aware of the " less than satisfactory " places to work at!

I believe if memory serves me correct cbox had to go to deal with some personal issues and was going to quit then...he was told there was some changes occurring and if wanted to come back in a few weeks they would be resolved and changes implemented. He gave them a second chance not bc of insanity but bc he preferred not to be a job hopper. You know one of those drivers never happy with a new company every couple of months? Plus he wanted the experience needed to sign on with a good company or fleet owner.

My leaving is in the works..Yes it is insanity. I have quit multiple jobs and wanted to make a true effort on this one.. Most of the people at g.f. are good down to earth people. I like "most" of them. Some I even consider friends.. I have given my everything to try and make this work.. If this makes it my fault so be it. A lot of drivers have given a lot less and ended up in a worse position. I am done with them. It is a matter of time for my option to take off. I will not post anything about them just to be spiteful.. I will post the truth.. Im gonna make my break with them respectful and clean. It is not worth defaming them or making up lies about them. I am not taking that path. If everyone cant understand why i gave this such an effort and stayed as long as i have then that is what is wrong with this country

It's not about blame dude. It's about common sense. A leopard doesn't change it's stripes. If you get screwed the very first week it isn't likely to change and shame on that owner. The second week and beyond? Shame on you...

That is what is wrong with this country. If you cant take a man for his word he is not much a man.. I have given every oppurtunity for things to be right.. I will not hop from job to job.. I got my experience and I now know what to look for when things are "promised". You have a jaded point of perception on how things "should be".. Correct me if i am wrong but you sound like you are whats wrong with this business.. Oh wait you cant..

A leopard has spots lol.. Its not about first week second week. If it had happened like that I would have been gone a long time ago.. Just because there are 1 or 2 ppl doing all this screwing over didnt mean i was ready to give up on the rest.. Internal issues have plagued this company.. I was trying to help fix things that I could. Communication in this company is horrible.. Nothing gets passed on.. I really truly wanted to make this a better company so I put up with a lot of things I shouldnt have.. It was hope..Now the hope has fell through.. I wish them the best but if things dont change drastically and very soon they are going to lose their drivers and all they will be able to recruit is scabs.

This country doesn't have anything to do with it. "Should be" is not a valid defense. Turtle told you what will happen if you guys keep it up. Believe me I know about being, ahem, "moderated"...
