Hopefully this video will be forwarded through social media, because it will likely never be seen on the msm. Trey Gowdy may turn out to be a real force in the GOP which so far seems to have no leaders who possess a spine, not to mention large enough cojones to take on the Democrats and media toe-to-toe. How many people realize he NEVER LOST A CASE as a federal prosecutor. Who knows - if he handles this committee in the right manner, maybe we could see a Gowdy/Paul ticket in 2016?? So far no Republican has emerged as a contender to ignite the conservative base.

Gowdy and the Ben-gauze-see committee will likely be the gift that keeps on giving ... particularly given his penchant for grandstanding and peacuckery ...

GOP’s new Benghazi lunatic: Meet Trey Gowdy, its substance-free committee chair - Salon.com

Doubtless he'll be an endless source of material for Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and the folks at Wonkette ...

How many people realize he NEVER LOST A CASE as a federal prosecutor.
Toto ain't in Kansas anymore ...

The only thing a ticket with 'Rooster' at the top of it will be good for is the train to nowhere ...

So far no Republican has emerged as a contender to ignite the conservative base.
LOL ... the GOP has far bigger problems than 'igniting' conservative base ... most of whom are already 'lit up' anyways ...

It's gonna take more than 25% to 35% of mebbe 50% of the electorate to secure the Oval Office ...

I didn't watch the vid, [don't care for them as a source of accurate info], but I have a comment on the site itself: judging by the article on Planned Parenthood, their motto "Informing and equipping Americans Who Love Freedom" should more accurately be "Misinforming & Whipping Up Outrage Among Americans Who Love To Appear 'Informed", [But Not If It Requires Checking Facts]"
The piece on Planned Parenthood was one lie after another, propaganda without a shred of truth anywhere. If that's how they 'inform' people, then people who buy it are pretty sorry, IMO.

Since opening a second home in South Carolina, I get to see more news coverage of local politicians like Congressman Gowdy. He represents the Greenville-Spartanburg area, good Appalachian folk, the most conservative part of a very conservative state. Gowdy is Southern Baptist, strongly pro-life and strong supporter of our military. He is a fearless advocate for the conservative agenda. Definitely a rising star in the GOP.

WATCH THIS CONGRESSIONAL FELLOW YELLING FAST AND FURIOUSLY ABOUT THE RULE OF LAW AND WHATNOT

by KRIS E. BENSON

What is Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) yelling about today? And if that name seems familiar, it is because he was in the news about a year ago for comparing same sex marriage to incest and on Fox “News” a few days ago referring to Nancy Pelosi as “mind numbingly stupid.” And then a few days after that, he opined that Nancy Pelosi should “see a mental health professional.” Today, however, he has had a rough go of it since the Supreme Court took away his Freedom so he is really letting it all hang out (and the NRO was kind enough to post the video in its entirety because of Journalism.) You see, he just wants the TRUTH about Fast and Furious, is that so much to ask? Just the truth about how some agent got killed (even though as it turns out it maybe wasn’t quite so nefarious?) and the truth about why this is all HAPPENING, is that so much to ask?? IS IT??

Rep. Gowdy starts out by yelling about TRUTH and the LAW and JUSTICE and then veers into a tirade about what it’s like to sit down with the parent of a murdered child, and how if those parents deserve the truth about what happened to their child then for some reason HE deserves the truth about what happened in a bunch of emails. Not the emails that Fortune Magazine reported on, OTHER emails that apparently may not even exist! But it doesn’t matter because HE CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH! Even if it contains FACTS, which most Republicans are generally not fond of, so that is commendable.

GOP’S GOT A FEVER, AND THE ONLY PRESCRIPTION IS MORE BENGHAZI!

by GARY LEGUM
remeber-benghazi.jpg

If you need further proof that the newly created House select committee to investigate BENGHAAAAZI!!!11!! is political theater designed to give the wingnuts an “accomplishment” to put in this fall’s election ads while separating the rubes from some campaign donations, look no further than this little nugget:

Almost every one of the 230-plus House Republicans is clamoring to be among the seven members placed on the Benghazi select committee.

Multiple Hill reporters tweeted that 206 congressional GOPers had requested a seat on the committee.

This raises the question of who are the RINOs who don’t want to be on the committee, and can any of them still be primaried?

David Drucker of the Washington Examiner suggests that the Republicans not seeking a seat on the committee are mostly representatives who are retiring or running in competitive districts, so presumably they don’t want some voters thinking they have gone running off this cliff with the rest of their insane caucus. Which means nearly 90% of the GOP in the House at worst doesn’t think that appearing insane will hurt them in their election campaigns this fall. Which is depressing enough.

The other piece of evidence that this is a bunch of Kabuki theater, as if you needed it, was a fundraising letter the National Republican Congressional Committee sent out yesterday telling the rubes that for a measly $25 donation, you too could be an official Benghazi Watchdog. Wingnuts do love to play-act that they are vitally important to the continued functioning of the Republic by giving themselves official-sounding titles, like those idiots out at the Bundy Ranch playing Red Dawn with real guns.

Even Rep. Trey Gowdy, who had to give up his new job playing the serial killer chased by burned-out cop Jake Gyllenhaal in a B-movie in order to chair the special committee, told his fellow Republicans to knock off the fundraising. So big of him to try and follow John Boehner’s directive that this whole thing won’t turn into a circus.

With exquisite timing, nasal-voiced hate machine Dana Loesch hit the nail right on the head. Only the head was her own and she didn’t stop with one swing of the hammer.

So what does any of this have to do with the OP, especially since you didn't bother to watch the short video? The piece on Planned Parenthood to which you refer might make good subject matter for a new thread regarding abortion, but everything else in this post is irrelevant to the points Gowdy was making about Benghazi.

I have great respect for Gowdy. I have seen several interviews with him and he always seems to listen to the whole question and considerate it before answering, this is a man of honor! Seems just like yesterday I was listening to my boss saying watergate was just a second rate breakin. As a career Military man I just want to know why no effort was made, I think the amatuers are there and they are just purely political. My hero Harry Truman would not let that happen.

He's also a politician ... which may - or may not - be compatible with being a "man of honor" ... or his ability to "considerate" questions ...

As a career Military man I just want to know why no effort was made ...
First off, if your characterization ("no effort was made") is referring to a response to the attacks, then it is false:

In fact multiple efforts were made ... unfortunately, due to the relatively short duration and separate (in both time and place) nature of the two attacks - as well as the accompanying confusion - it wasn't really possible to do anything effective in terms of preventing any and all loss of life. Certainly actions that were taken may have prevented even further loss of American lives.

The idea that the full power and glory of the United States is omnipresent and omnipotent is an extremely dangerous delusion - one that should not be engaged in:

(CBS News) On the night of the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya, a team of American military commandos was sent from Europe to an airfield at Sigonella, in Sicily, Italy, putting them at least an hour's flight away from Benghazi, CBS News has learned.

The team, known as the Commander's In-extremis Force, was designed specifically for quick reaction to unforeseen emergencies. But U.S. officials say it did not arrive in Sicily until after the attack was over.

Even if the team had been ready in time, confusion about what was happening on the ground in Benghazi -- and State Department concerns about violating Libyan sovereignty -- made a military rescue mission impractical, the officials say.

That confusion can be read in State Department cables from the day of the attack. At 4:05 p.m. ET, a cable warned the consulate was under attack. Forty-nine minutes later, another cable reported that the firing had stopped and the compound had been cleared.

See Sharyl Attkisson's report on the cables, left.

In fact, the U.S. ambassador and one other State Department employee were dead and the attack was far from over.

Seven hours later, another cable reported that a Benghazi shelter location was also under attack by mortar fire -- a reference to a safe house about a mile from the consulate, where approximately 30 Americans had taken cover. Daylight revealed the safe house had taken a direct hit, killing two more Americans.

U.S. officials confirmed Wednesday that a 28-year-old man suspected of taking part in the attack is now in custody in Tunisia, but he is not considered to be one of the ringleaders. So far, the FBI has not been allowed to question him.

Meanwhile, CBS News correspondent Margaret Brennan reports that the FBI and State Department have reviewed video from security cameras that captured the attack on the consulate.

The audio feed of the attack was being monitored in real time in Washington by diplomatic security official Charlene Lamb. CBS News has learned that video of the assault was recovered 20 days later from the more than 10 security cameras at the compound.

The government security camera footage of the attack was in the possession of local Libyans until the week of Oct. 1. The video will be among the evidence that the State Department's review board will analyze to determine who carried out the assault.
U.S. military poised for rescue in Benghazi - CBS News

The following should satisfy the unslaked bloodlust and any residual feelings of impotence (but, of course, probably won't):

During the fighting, the CIA had successfully rescued six State Department personnel, recovered Smith's body, and had evacuated about thirty Americans out of Benghazi alive. Most news accounts do not mention the number of attackers killed. "Benghazi: The Definitive Report" claims that just under 100 attackers were killed.

Ted Cruz offers similar unanswered questions, pushes for Senate select committee to work with House:
Cruz also took the time to lay out 10 questions that he feels have not been sufficiently answered.

  • Why was the State Department unwilling to provide the requested level of security to Benghazi in the summer of 2012?
  • Did President Obama’s daily intelligence briefings in the run-up to September 11, 2012 support the assertion that there was no credible threat of a coordinated terrorist attack on Benghazi during this time? And if so, why does the White House not declassify and release the briefings, as President George Bush did his pre-September 11, 2001 briefings?
  • Why did we not anticipate the need to have military assets at the ready in the region on the anniversary of September 11, of all days?
  • Did President Obama sleep the night of September 11, 2012? Did Secretary Clinton? When was President Obama told about the murder of our ambassador?
  • If the secretary of defense thought there was “no question” this was a coordinated terrorist attack, why did Ambassador Susan Rice, Secretary Clinton, and President Obama all tell the American people that the cause was a “spontaneous demonstration” about an internet video?
  • Why did former deputy CIA director Mike Morell edit the intelligence community talking points to delete the references to “Islamic extremists” and “al-Quaeda”?
  • Why did the FBI release pictures of militants taken the day of the attack only eight months after the fact? Why not immediately, as proved so effective after the Boston bombing?
  • Why was Secretary Clinton not interviewed for the ARB report? And if all relevant questions were answered in the ARB report, why did the State Department’s own inspector-general office open a probe into the methods of that very report?
  • Why have none of the terrorists who attacked in Benghazi been captured or killed?
  • What additional evidence that the White House engaged in a political campaign to blame the Benghazi attack on the internet video is contained in the additional emails requested by Judicial Watch but withheld by the White House on the grounds that it would put a “chill” on internal deliberations

It would seem that given that just under 100 attackers were killed (assuming that the reportage contained in "Benghazi: The Definitive Report" is true and accurate) the following question on the part of Ted Cruz:

"Why have none of the terrorists who attacked in Benghazi been captured or killed?"

... would likely qualify Mr. Cruz as a highly ignorant cretin ...

Wonder how many other of his questions are based on a similarly flawed premise ...

Not much point in answers to questions if retard Congress Critters aren't going to bother to avail themselves of them when they already exist.

Good example of that, at the link below, in case of our so-called "man of honor" (aka Rooster Retard):

No ... Gowdy and Cruz are the right people to keep the rubes in the wing-nut brigade in a frenzy of near orgasmic excitement and delight at the mere prospect - no matter how remote or unlikely - that it might just be possible to tar the Uppity One with something ...

Because ... sticky, gooey goodness of conservativist mental fappery ...
