Good stuff. Like Perry says, even if Congress doesn't act, the President can pick up the phone, call the DoD, and secure the borders today, right now. It's something I've been whining about for 20 years. It's infuriating. If the President doesn't, then Congress can fund and order the Border Patrol to do it. But they don't.
Moving the Border Patrol to the border from 50 miles out is something I've been saying every since I started expediting down there. That is something that can be seen and determined after just one visit down there. Anybody can see it. My very first trip down there the first thought was they're trying to close the barn doors after the horses have gotten out.

That's precisely what most of the stories about the refugees from violence in Central America and the Death Train are supposed to engender. Have you noticed that most of the stories these last few weeks aren't about the problems at the border or farther inland here, but about the dire circumstances these people are fleeing? And even the ones that are about the problems of the influx of immigrants aren't about how to prevent them from getting in here, but about how to take care of them once they're here.

The greatest threat is the threat to this Nation that is caused by NOT controlling our borders.
And let us not forget. We are in addition to taking care of these people, we are sending big money in aid to these countries that they are fleeing. What are we thinking? Cut the aid to these countries.

They are not "fleeing" anything, they are being encouraged to come here.
That's simply not true. You are ill-informed. Talk to people who have been there, and lived there, especially Americans. View some news reports from international news organizations with no dog in the hunt. The places and situations these people are coming from make downtown Detroit on a Saturday night look like Sunday afternoon church picnic.
Obama's very public use of certain "executive orders" made it quite clear that the United States was not going to return "children" and other "migrants" to their home countries.
Human traffices know this. The obvious lack of enforcement, on the part of the United States, as ordered by Obama, opened the door, so to speak, for the flood.
What is going on in their home country is horrible, but the massive influx we see now did NOT take place until those executive orders were put out.
Obama is deliberately USING the misery in those counties, for his own political gain. He does not give a rats patute about what happens to those kids, he does not care if they die in route, or worse. All he is after is political points. He is more concerned, he is ONLY concerned with power.
IF we had an HONEST commander in chief, this would NOT be taking place.
As to the problems in the other countries, it is NOT our business. We have enough here of our own to deal with.

The illegal immigration problem stems from the fact we share a landmass with Third World countries so bedeviled by poverty, crime and political corruption that the dangerous trek to the United States seems a better choice than staying put. It is understandable.
These Central American countries share a culture similar to our own in that Christianity came with the Conquistadors some 600 years ago. The US would be better served by helping our neighbors in this hemisphere rather than meddling in far flung Muslim regions which aren't receptive to the Western world in the first place. When a First World nation sits near to 3rd World nations, you know which way the migration flows.
We need new leadership on this issue. Leadership based on goodwill and common values. Leadership that rises above partisan politics. Why not work to make these Central American countries a place where families can aspire to a decent standard of living right there in their own communities? Central America needs the equivalent of the Marshall Plan.
