I did not see anything in that article that stated where they entered the country. Could have missed it, the words are blurry.
They all entered legally on US government issued visas, through US Customs at ports of entry. Does it matter which port of entry they entered? But if you read the details, they entered in several places, ranging from Newark, Los Angeles, NYC, Miami, others.

Are Predator drones worth the money for border security?

Eyes in the Sky: Are Pricey Border Patrol Drones Worth the Money? - NBC News

These are some expensive little puppies, $18 million a pop, plus it takes a crew of 5-8 people to operate, plus a maintenance staff.

Yet we have goobers with Phantom quadcopters and GoPros doing the same thing for less than a couple of grand, including real time video imaging uplink to your smartphone.

It does not matter, just was wondering. The words are blurry. Getting new glasses on the 26th, hope that helps.

Troops are the answer, 250,000 on the southern border, 100,000 on the northern border. Eliminate the Border Patrol.

Mohammed Atta and perhaps a few of his accomplices spent some time in Maine prior to the Sept 11th attacks. This led to much speculation about their travel in weeks leading up to the attacks. There was mention of the Halifax airport rent-a-car facility and speculation about ferry rides. All speculation which clung to my gray matter by mistake. I will provide a link which captures the speculation at the time. Again, the 9/11 Commission concluded none of the hijackers entered the US from Canada. Thanks to Scott for the correction.

The 9/11 duds did not enter the country through Canada, but a lot of illegals do. So does a lot of illegal drugs. It is a very porous border.

The speculation ran rampant, so it's not surprising that some of it would stick. I seem to recall Portland (Maine) getting a lot of airtime (as to where some of them entered, then drove down to Boston). None of the early speculation even mentioned Florida, and that's where they mostly hung out.

One thing from the article struck me as something worth commenting on... "the 19 terrorists on Sept. 11 were holding 63 state driver's licenses for identification."

As a truck driver, just try and get a second license from another state. As a terrorist, not a problem. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the legitimacy of Motor Voter registration laws, huh. <snort>

If a person wants illegal ID's is not all that hard to get them. It's a rather big business in it's own right.

When there is a "leadership" vacuum, it will get filled. When people get mad enough, they will start to act on their own. That is why government SHOULD fulfill it's duties. This is going to happen, unless the government closes and controls the border.

Both the statement from the government and the citizen groups are right. The problems was caused, and continues to be caused, due to inaction by the government.

[h=1]Armed citizen groups seek recruits to secure U.S. border[/h]

"Federal authorities say they do not support any private group taking matters into their own hands, and say it could have "disastrous" consequences.

The activists say their efforts are needed because the federal government has failed to secure the border"

Right now, Mexico might rightly be seen as a narco-state where government isn't really in control of events.
Mexico is indeed "a wretched hive of scum and villainy", but one thing their govt does control is their borders; they have some of the most stringent immigration regulations in the world. However, they have found an area of flexibility and accommodation when it comes to illegal immigrants coming from their neighbors to their south that are headed for the US.
On Monday, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Guatemalan president Otto Perez Molina held a joint press conference in Playas de Catazaja, Mexico, to officially announce an agreement to make it easier for those making the illegal journey to the United States from Central America, to cross into Mexico.

The Southern Border Program to Improve Passage, will provide for more border checkpoints along Mexico's border with Guatemala, and offer more protection and even emergency medical care to those making their way north. The illegal aliens will receive a so-called Regional Visitor's Card, according to El Universal.

Officially, the program will grant the cards to only illegal aliens from Guatemala and Belize, allowing them to remain in Mexico's southern states for 72 hours (more than enough time to reach the U.S./Mexican border by train). While, those two countries share a border with Mexico, the program will undoubtedly benefit anyone who makes it to the border, which would explain why our Border Patrol stations are currently overflowing with illegal aliens from El Salvador and Honduras as well.

The program will also give special protection and even financial assistance to unaccompanied minors now pouring across our border. Of course, these efforts, chiefly by the Mexican government, will only increase the number of illegal aliens coming to this country by the thousands, now on a daily basis.
The official announcement only confirms what many of us have known all along...the current chaos on the border which the Obama administration has sympathetically (and dishonestly) characterized as a "humanitarian crisis," only exists due to collusion between the governments of Mexico, Guatemala and likely the United States.

You see, unlike the United States, Mexico actually defends their southern border...
In September 2010, the head administrator of the Mexican Superintendency of Tax Administration, Raul Diaz, told theInter-Press Sevice (IPS) that his government was building a wall in the state of Chiapas, along the Mexican/Guatemalan border. The official reason given was to stop contraband from coming into Mexico, but as Diaz readily admitted: "It could also prevent the free passage of illegal immigrants."

Furthermore, Article 33 of the Mexican Constitution states:
The President of the Republic shall have the power to expel from national territory any foreigner, according to the law and after a hearing. The law shall establish the administrative procedure for this purpose, as well as the place where the foreigner should be detained and the time for that. Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country.

Of course, in the U.S. illegal aliens are not only free to stay without fear of deportation, but they now protest openly, regularly invading Congressional field offices to demand amnesty legislation, as well as actually physically blocking the entrances and exits of the Washington D.C. headquarters of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters in 2013.

Obviously, the American people are under daily assault from foreign invaders, bringing with them crime and disease, but the bigger threat is from government corruption, both foreign and domestic...governments that manufacture crises which threaten to "fundamentally transform" ours into a Third World nation in less than a generation

Mexico made deal to send more illegal aliens to the U.S. - National Immigration Reform | Examiner.com

Once again we witness a vacuum of leadership and statesmanship during a worsening crisis. Maybe Obama should be having a conversation with the president of Mexico instead of spending his time fundraising. Rather than asking for $3 Billion that we don't have, the US govt should be withholding aid from Mexico and Honduras to pay for taking care of all the illegals they send to us. We don't need to be involved with nation building in Central America. We already have enough American-owned manufacturing facilities in Mexico providing jobs and boosting their economy.

The Examiner piece... that's one fine example of excellence in journalism, right there. It's so excellent that right before Rush Limbaugh read the entire piece on air, complete with selective commentary, of course, he stated, "Well, I took it upon myself to find out, and this is what they are doing. And this is not from some right-wing outlet, what I have here is it a story from the examiner.com, but it's basically a rewrite of a Spanish language report from El Universal." And there you have it, the Man from EIB (Excellence in Broadcasting) reading a stellar example of Excellence in Journalism.

I strongly suggest that anyone who believes the Examiner piece at face value not go to the original Spanish language source and translate the page into English. You'll be crushed. You'll find that it's not "basically" a rewrite of the El Universal story at all, and that not a single conclusion drawn in the Examiner piece can be found in the original story. Some of the facts are certainly correctly rewritten, but not for the reasons stated.

On a side note, I find it hilarious that people think Mexico should be preventing people from passing through Mexico on the way to the US, as if that's somehow their job. We let people into the US all the time from Canada, and some of them go to Mexico. We don't even make Canadians get a 72 hour visitation card - we just let 'em in.

Maybe we should flee to Europe........................lol

I am not fleeing to anywhere. I was born here, it is my native land. It's time for the government to do it's duty, for once, and close and control our borders. If they don't start doing their job, the People will do it for themselves.

Besides, I am too old to flee, my knees hurt too much! ;)

As long as America will fight other countries wars and send food and money,,why should the Latinos or Mexicans or wherever they are from, stay home when we give them jobs, food, shelter, so they can riot for more free money, food, clothing and shelter----------and around and around we goooooo. Someday the golden goose will lay down and die, just saying.

The "Golden Goose" is in intensive care and on life support. There is still a chance of recovery but they are fading fast. The "Golden Goose" will surely die without drastic measures being taken to say it.
