They say a lot of crickets mean a cold early winter and we've got millions of them. They eat the grasshopper eggs so they're beneficial, because we had a ton of grasshoppers this year too...then they sneak inside the house and my cats eat them, along with munching on the grasshoppers...

Cats are nice to have!

Well OK! I dug up about 2 dozen garlic bulbs..and that's ample supply for the winter! Also picked another 2 dozen tomatoes so I'll be the Salsa Queen by this afternoon!

Got all my perenniel hanging baskets replanted in the flower beds and my banana plant cleaned up and taken inside. It's fall clean up time!

70 + 12 = 82...plus the half dishpan full of cukes that I pulled this morning when I yanked all the cucumber vines...now I'm ripping out all the dill.

not a bad haul for the season...82 jars of pickles this year and about 7 still left from last years crop of 90+.

cuke vines pulled...dill pulled..and it's hot out there! Got this big empty spot in the middle of the garden now....looks good..means less work...*lol*

oops...time to water! Guess they call it Labor Day for a reason......

And I was able to put up another 6 quarts from the cukes that were dangling on the vines when I pulled them out. So total now is 88! And I've got more tomatoes ripening on the kitchen table..by tomorrow I should be able to make more salsa.
