And my response wasn't an attack on you Critter, it was more of a "if everyone post their own thread on location and whatever...the band width for the site becomes an issue"...that is why 1 thread on location makes sense...the banter is going to happen...as i asked in the location w/ no banter thread....is explaining what you are doing while at your current location "banter"?? I am sure some will think so...

The whole thing is just silly from my point of view....

Here's an idea to create work for someone. Create a banter tag then have a tag filter that allows people to filter tags they don't like. There could even be four-letter-word tags. Sort of like the option to personally block undesireable users.

I think chef the banter/no banter conversation is decided but there seems to be an underlying issue about the mods themselves.

Maybe it is me, but I am finding something wrong here when we have to have this much 'discussion' about simple things while very d*mn good points have been made with some serious good suggestions (not just my own), but something else is driven home under the guise of what people want with a defensive and obtuse attitude.

The 'experiment' was a failure as soon as the posts were deleted because instead of offering us, the deleted ones', the chance to edit them to better suit the needs, there was a rush to stay the course.

The experiment failed before it started. The first part of the experiment should have been to privately ask a group of users (there are even "moderators" in this group) to try to stay closer to the topic of "September 2010 Locations", because some users find it hard to follow a thread that wanders so far from the topic. That failing on to part two of experiment. As it was done, the moderating was done in the interests of one party, and that is not moderating.

Juju I think your garden thread deserves to be a sticky and it is so informative.

My wife read some of it and now she is convinced canning is a good thing (don't ask why it wasn't) so yesterday we went looking for supplies because she is convinced we don't have enough jars, lids and bands.

You probably won't...I think where at all possible I will use the water bath as opposed to the pressure canning. Last count on jars..70 quarts of pickles, 10 quarts of pickled green beans, 1 quart of yellow beans, 6 quarts of pickled banana peppers..then I'm not even sure how many pints I've used. But the tomatoes are just starting and I have 4 cases of quart jars just waiting for them. And I also have a freezer full of frozen veggies, which is another good way to preserve. She's gonna have FUN!! :D

What I remember most is that all those prayers and good wishes resulted in giving him three weeks of excruciating pain and agony while slipping in and out of a morphine-induced stupor before he finally got some peace, and people thanked God for that.

Some of you will bash me for what I have said and thats fine. But deep down whether you want to admit it or not you know I am right about what I have said! You people are ALL better than this! :)

Naaa. Nobody will bash you for what you have said. Maybe for being somewhat judgmental, or maybe for admonishing people for how they want to spend their leisure time and entertainment dollar. But not really bashing or anything. :D

heh heh...I prefer to think of it as HEAVENLY! It satisfied that chocolate urge that I've had for months..now I'm thinking I can freeze the rest until I absolutely have to have it again!!:)
