Yep spoke to him about it told me to find something if I can. But would that cause the brakes to act the way they would like I described ?

There is a Mercedes shop in Memphis no idea if they work on sprinters or not. I looked for a Mercedes shop that sells sprinters and that's like 180miles away

Most of the time if a dealer does not sell Sprinters, they don't work on them. Their are exceptions, but you will have to call to make sure they have a Sprinter tech there.

As for your current problem, Some pedal drop is common. I would have to see it to tell you for sure. You can check for air in the system by looking at the fluid in the master cylinder. If there are bubbles, there is air in the system. If no bubbles, I would look to the vacuum supply. For your info, it should be 20-22 HG at the booster. If the vacuum is ok, the problem is most likely the booster. I have also seen cracks in the check valve as well, so that should be checked before the booster is replaced. The brake bleeding procedure Nick mentions is called "Exceptional Bleeding" and is done using the DRBIII scan tool. I seldom found it necessary to use it unless I had to replace lines or the ABS valve itself. Since master cylinders are bench bled before installation, not much air is introduced into the system, and standard bleeding procedures are usually sufficient.

Whatever it turns out to be, keep the receipt and send it to DRS. If it was a failure on their part, I know from experience they will make it right.

As for DEALERS, they are not always your best choice. If you take it to one, ask to see the Sprinter tech's credentials. As a ASE Certified Master Technician in both cars and trucks, I never had a problem showing my PROFESSIONAL credentials.

Let me know how it turns out.

Nick, you have a pm back.

Driveshaft "stretch" is a term used when the shaft is pulled free of the yoke. The u-joints fail due to the shaft being out of balance or being subjected to driveline vibration from another source. The shaft itself won't stretch.
