Anyone know much about brakes ? Just had replaced master cylinder on the sprinter. Pedal would go almost to the floor and you could pump them a time or two and they were fine. After the repair they were fine. Now they doing the same. They checked all brakes at shop everything looked good. Pedal goes way down almost to the floor pump them a time or two they are fine. You can sit still pump up the brakes and hold. 3 seconds later the pedal falls a few inches and holds. I checked the fluid its good. I'm thinking could be air in the lines or maybe a bad caliper ?

Get your orders in now cuz I'm putting in an order to dispatch to get my hubby home for a bit..kinda missing the guy! ;)

Chris, if the lines weren't properly bled, there could be miosture/air trapped in the lines from when they opened the lines to replace the master cylinder. It is kind of strange to see a master cylinder replaced at lower milage.I know on the sprinters and most newer model vehicles in order to properly bleed the brake system you should also bleed the ABS part. In order to do that you need the propper scan tool, that a dealer has or equivalent in order to activate the ABS. A $150 parts store scan tool cannot do this. On the flip side it could just be that you got a bad master cylinder out of the box. It could also be that you had a bad brake booster.

My suggestion, for what its worth is to talk to your owner and have him send you to a Mercedes dealer that has the knowledge and the propper tools to work on your vehicle. My Grandpa used to tell me "Get it done right the first time, that way you don't have to pay twice for the same thing".

Judy, we will still take the ten if you have them. My mom and dad love them. Plus this way it saves my mom from pickling. I'll also ask my mom if she has any more jars to donate.

Nick...one could check for any air leaks from the vacuum pump to the booster remember that engine took a good whack....I don't know where the pump is located on the 07's ...our is right on the front of engine...

The dealer would be a GREAT idea..Chris says his ABS warning light was still on after he left shop....there might be a bigger problem then just a sensor....

My grandpa was just a simple man. Came here to the states in the late 70's with a suitcase. He was never a rich man but the family always had what we needed. He was a hard working honest man and the reason I am the man i am today is influenced by what he taught me. I only wish he was still around today to see what I and my siblings have achieved .

Actually its the worn brake or thin lining light. But past 24 hours it has went off and came back on maybe 3 or 4 times

Yep spoke to him about it told me to find something if I can. But would that cause the brakes to act the way they would like I described ?
