Eating on the Cheap

Dang, I forgot about attitude but it is true. Good or bad, your attitude colors your every action.
Also, patience is an absolute must, I reckon that could be construed as part of one's attitude. Whatever, an impatient driver is both unprofessional and an accident waiting to happen.

Keep a large container of oatmeal and pour in bowl for breakfast. For lunch there is Wendy's Chilli large or small for under two dollars or Taco Bell Chicken Burrito for 99 cents. Carry some cooked refrigerated black beans and add to burrito to make a filling meal, Have a few empty milk jugs of water from home to drink. Carry instant coffee and a thermos. I'll buy a small coffee and pour into thermos . Add some water and another scoop of instant to last all day. Maybe Tubby's footlong for dinner for 5 dollars. If too much eat half for dinner and put the other half in cooler bag in cargo area where it stays cold in winter or refrigerate and eat later.

Tropigal, what most of us are trying to do is keep our meal expenses more in line with what we'd spend eating at home. Most "average income" folks don't eat all their meals in a restaurant to keep control of their budget. Those of us that have vehicles equipped with micros and fridges can use these to keep costs down. When I was in my cargo van I didn't have these things and my meal expenses were much higher. Trust me, most of us aren't splitting hot dogs in half. When I buy the 2 for 2 dogs at the Pilot they don't stay around long enough for that.

Steady, back when I was married, in the time before time, I still remember the first time I offered to do the grocery shopping. I was given "the list" and off I went. I was back in about a half an hour. The wife was astonished! She was certain that I hadn't gotten everything on the list. I had, plus ice cream and beer.

Disclaimer: There's nothing "sexist" going on, or anything of that sort. The wife just enjoyed shopping and preferred to do it herself. If she was busy, I'd do it.

Thanks Highway Star, after reading many posts on this EO site I have come to believe one can make a reasonable living if you pay attention. Also, the good attitude that was brought up is helpful in everything we do!

As for good deals on food. Micky D’s has a double cheeseburger, small fries and a small drink for only $3.18!!!! :)

Just saw an IHOP commercial for the new bacon and egg cheeseburger, and I was like...ok why not just sell me a syringe full of cholesterol and fat and skip the digestive issues this is gonna cause?
