Got a "local" picking up in Perrysburg Oh..took off to get it, and for some reason my cell phone went dead (battery full charged) and I missed 2 calls that the run had been changed to a ST load....so, I found out after i got the shippers...sittin at home in my chair now waitin for the next load...

This job teaches you a lot about what is truly important in life. I am so thankful to be sitting in my van with the engine idling keeping me warn and for the hot breakfast sandwich I am eating. I have learned to be humble and thankful for all of the little things that I have over my 4 years of cargo van living. I hope they get you a load out before christmas man; perhaps Santa will need some toys expedited back up to ohio. lol!

I appreciatte the holiday wishes, but being home is not a priority.Getting the bills paid/caught up is.I am available no matter what right now.

sitting in Folkcroft PA, waiting ofr a load to get us back towards home. Hopefully soon, if not we will have to just dead head home. Not going to miss Christmas with my family. We missed Thanksgiving already. Wasn't as important to us as Christmas is though.
Christmas is my favorite day with my children and grandchildren. Not because of the gifts, they are the gifts to me, but because of the wonder and joy and the celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ. It is so up lifting to me, the Miracle of Jesus and that God would send his son to the earth for us.

Sorry if this rubs someone the wrong way, but that is what Christmas is to me, The celebration of Jesus' birth. In fact I bake a cake for him and have my grandchildren sing him happy birthday before we can open presents.

Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year.
I pray for a blessed year for all of you.

After reading youre posts, I was wondering how any money is being made, between deadheading, sitting and empty moves, which seem to be alot more than the loaded miles.I really think you can do better elsewhere. You are a team.Ever think about Polly Express? They'll run youre wheels off in a straight truck.Just sayin.[/QUOTE]

Haven't ever heard of Polly Express. I am surprised with you being from Load1 you wouldn't suggest Load1 to me. Is there a reason why you would suggest Polly Express over Load1? Just wondering.

Just because someone works for one carrier doesn't mean they don't see others fitting into another carrier with their experience at the other carrier or the knowledge they have about that carrier. I see a lot of people who can fit into FedEx and tell them that (not here of course) or see them fitting into Panther so I tell them.

ok, that makes sense.
I was just curious because we are looking to make a change and we were considering Load1, we have never heard of Polly Express.
The owner of the truck has been in contact with Load1 for us and I told him about your post about Polly, but I couldn't remember the "Express" part of the name and just sent that to him as well. He is willing to explore all companies for us and put us where we and he feels would be a good fit for us. He has been in the business for a long time. He has three trucks out there right now, but he is a type of person who will find what is best for all concerned. I like that in him. He has one with Tri-State and that driver loves it there and has been with this owner for 7 years and with Tri-State longer.

We are open to any input, to make a good decision.

The reason I suggested Polly over Load One is that I know absolutely nothing about Load One as far as Straight Trucks,,so it would be wrong for me to suggest something I know nothing about. At Polly, when I was there in 2008,I made $137,000 in that year, running single, in a straight truck. So that is why I am sugesting them to you, and it sounds like you need to get caught up quickly on things.Load One is an excellent company, and I am so blown away by the communication from them and John over everything.I am slow right now,and I cant believe how much they have let me know they are looking, the layover pay, etc.No other company has made me feel this confident in them.It makes sitting so much easier, so much peace of mind.he reason I left Polly wasnt really Polly, but things going on at the time, beyond my control.I have recomended several team freinds of mine to them, and they are doing well there.

Yes it has been tough so far, not sure how we will pay some bills that we have but we always make it some way.
