Claycomo has to be the pickiest plant we've ever gone into. They darn near threw a fit the last time I sent a van in there to make a delivery. They have a good enough ramp for unloading vans, but always insist on dock high.

On the other topic, if a truck can make it somewhere a day or two early, I always tell the driver(s) the actual protect time and make it known that any early delivery is a bonus. Of course we'll always try to deliver early if possible, but I always let the driver know what's up before taking the load.

Hey!! No one likes a braggart! I'm still down here with a bunch of trucks that have been here as long as I have.

The only time I delivered early at Claycomo was with new model parts that didn't go to the line. I've tried other times, but always had to wait.

Hmm, glad to know that. Here it is Wed. and I have a total miles for this week 0

Well, things have perked up quite a bit for the week.I am hoping, praying, for another load to complete the week.

Dispatch was so awesome and understanding in me going through all the black ice, snow, freezing rain, etc this morning from Oh to NC.It really sucked bad...

Agreed - dispatch is AWESOME ..... they pulled something from nothing for us and truly saved our week.
Thursday a.m. still 0 miles, then got a load to Canada, now PA to SC, so ending the week with 1420 miles - Sincerely, Thank You Load 1 Dispatch :D

Got my friday load..Bad load beginning to end..but after getting to the right pick up point and then getting to the right drop off point...Twice...I ended up in Atlanta, Ga...

Hanging on the east side, ready to run home to Columbia, SC and lick my wounds but the phone rang twice..soo no home time this w/e and off to Finley, OH on Sun.

Dec now has the potential to be a very good month!!

It seems if you actually stay available for loads....one can make money doing this....LOL

Well we were at the Ford plant in Claycomo by 8 am this morning like the guard lady told us to do last night in the hopes that they would take the load from s this morning instead of making us wait till tomorrow morning. We really lucked out and we know it! We only had to wait 45 minutes for them to take the load. We were in and out once we got to the dock no issues. We were so glad to not have the load for two days on our truck just sitting here.

We then get another load at about 1:30 we are told to be in Camdenton MO by 3:00pm. He says pick is at 3 but I know you won't make it then just get there ASAP. We get it all punched into the gps and get on the road and call him back and let him know that according to the gps we won't arrive until 4:30. I let him know this within 15 minutes of being on the road toward Candenton.

He calls us back when we are about half way there and wants to know how much further, I tell him. Then he says he is going to call the customer and tell them we are running late.

We get about 30 miles away and we are called again, again want to know how far away, let them know. At 13 miles away we get another call and this time we are told that we lost the load. We are told that he (our dispatcher) told the customer that we had a flat tire and we are on our way that we were a little further out than originally thought. But that we would be there soon. The customer supposively was fine with it, but the shipper called another company to drive for them.

We continued to go to the pick up point just to see how long it would have taken us to get there and we had no place else to go. We were there in 10 minutes from the time we were called. We beat the new driver but of course we couldn't do anything about it.

We are now in Lebanon, MO at a Truck stop off 44. We now have another load that we are supposed to pick up at 8 am in Mount Vernon, Ill to take it to Springfield Oh. We will be leaving about 3 am to go there. This time we were told it doesn't deliver till 7 am Monday morning. It is not far from our home in Delta Oh so they suggested we go home for the week end then go back and deliver it. Then he says I will call in the morning to see if you can deliver it early or not that way you can just go home for the week end without having to worry about going out to deliver the load Sunday night.

I said if you get us able to deliver it same day then we would prefer you get us another load rather than going home for the weekend. We can't make any money sitting at home. We plan on being home on Thursday for Christmas and will be ready to be back out on the 27th or 28th. We aren't worried about being home for the new year.

But we don't normally run on the weekends due to they don't seem to work on the weekends for find loads.

Not happy with the situations much at all. They did increase our pay a bit to pay for the lost load (dead head to it any way).

I dont know who you are leased to,but I hope it is possible for you to leave and find a better carrier. Many people sometimes wait until it is too late, and do not have the financial means to do so.I used to be one of those people years ago, just trying to be a nice guy and giving the carrier another chance after listening to their little schpeial...lol.

After reading youre posts, I was wondering how any money is being made, between deadheading, sitting and empty moves, which seem to be alot more than the loaded miles.I really think you can do better elsewhere. You are a team.Ever think about Polly Express? They'll run youre wheels off in a straight truck.Just sayin.

We are home until Jan 3. The "stuff" never seems to end. We had 15" of water in our basement early this week. It was a GOOD thing my nephew came by the house or the water would have filled the basement. The non-covered loses are high. To top it off we are getting an ECU 128 error on the truck, that goes in Monday. What a pain. :(

No nothing broke. The pipe that takes the sump water out froze so the sump backed up. We have a back up but it vented out the same pipe. We are going to reroute that pipe and vent the back up out a different pipe. What a mess.
