"Force them..." That's just freakin' hilarious...
I agree! Try using force with a UAW dock stiff and they be spending Christmas and New Years in Claycomo.
Claycomo has an interesting history. Prior to 1959 the city was know as Pierinoville. On February 3, 1959 a small plane bound for Kansas City took off from Clear Lake, Iowa and crashed in a nearby field. The plane was transporting Buddy Holly and the Crickets to a show the next evening in Pierinoville (Claycomo) Missouri. All on board the plane died.
A young, unknown crooner named Clay was scheduled to open the show for the Crickets the next night. The owner of the ballroom in Pierinoville, who believed in the old adage "the show must go on" encouraged young Clay to not only be the opening act but to perform in the headliner slot.
Clay sang for 4 hours straight. The crowd loved him. He even sang a medley of Cricket's songs. There was not a dry eye in the house when Clay left the stage.
After the show while driving to his motel, Clay fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a tree and died instantly. Ironically Clay fell asleep while listening to his older brother's radio show "The Perry Como Radio Hour."
Two months after Clay's death the city of Pierinoville officially changed its name to Claycomo in honor of the deceased singer. And now you know the rest of the story.
Footnote: Clay Como's tragic death was the inspiration for the name of the country band formed by Ray Benson and Lucky Oceans in 1970.
