In lansing, hanging out with the parents. Get our taxes done, and can't wait to get back out there and have a fresh start!! We have confidence that this week was one of those fluke things. We know this business is sometimes a game of cards, in which you don't always have the winning hand, but have a winning team behind us!!

Hey Guido here's your chance! Lol

I tell you what, is it ugly out here, or just me? Am I expecting too much? But In talking with so many others, it is slow for other companies as well. Praying for patience through this time of testing..Yea, it is funny in a way how when Ken is at home it seems I get busy..just a coincidence, I guess..I'd relocate to a better area, but I didnt think northern KY would be all that bad of an area..Dispatch has been awesome in being honest with me on what is going on and that makes it so much easier to be patient in waiting.

On a separate note, going through my records for the past 2 years, the average price I paid for fuel has risen an average of close to a dollar a gallon each year...so I am thinking that $5.00 a gallon fuel may not be that far out of reach..

What does a redneck divorce and a tornado have in common? Someone's going to lose a trailer...

Sitting at the yard and just got a 34 hour reset with out needing one..lot of trucks in the parking lot but have not seen any drivers..I know dispatch is trying and Jeremy has bid on a couple loads but no luck..kinda bored just sitting...
Yesterday I was in the driver lounge with another driver who I will not name.he was a pig and had made a mess peeling a orange.he got up and went outside to smoke and I moved the vacuum cleaner next to the couch he was living on...hope he got the hint..lol.
I will go up to the lounge in a little bit and if he did not clean up his mess I will run the vacuum...its not like I have anything to do.
then its time for a truck wash and laundry..I will try to make the best of this down time..

I hate when things are like this. I know it is all carriers but it drives me nuts. I have gotten calls from 6 or 7 other owners and it is everywhere. Recruiting is taking a million phone calls from guys starving. I don't know if the disaster in Japan, or what happened. It is almost like our January arrived now.

Well with that being said, I do not have any quick fix. But, I promise you guys that we are on it. Sales and operations will do everything we can to keep everyone moving as best we can. I will push on the sales staff and try and get out myself the next few weeks to shake the bushes to keep everyone moving profitably as possible.

You guys all want to make a fair living. I get that. I hate someone who complains just to complain. But, I have no issue with the frustrations of hard working people that want to do good. So many things are beyond our control, but I promise we will do everything to maximize the parts that we can control!

Like John, I don't know what happened to cause this slow period. I suspect it is a combination of things including Japan and the rising fuel costs. Whatever the reasons, it is clear that it has become a shipper's market where there are more trucks than loads. I knew, without John having to say anything, that everyone at Load 1 was doing all they could to keep our trucks moving.

Now that I've stated the obvious, I'll make this promise to John and the Load 1 staff. I've telling my drivers to cover the loads that are offered to them regardless. If you come up with a load and one of my trucks is available, the load will be covered.

After everything John has done for us in the past, we will do everything we can to back him up now.

We know your on top of situation John. We are all in this together. When the drivers are hurting, the company is hurting. When the drivers are prospering, the company is also.

Just hearing words like that are more than I ever heard from previous employers. And it goes a long way. Thanks.

Like all small towns , just look for the local cafe and there be a lot full of pickups...

Yep, the fun crowd. How did they take to an outsider?
By the way, don't know if I told ya, my wife is from SF. Born and raised. My mother-in-law lives in Sun City outside if Phoenix, she keeps threatening to move back. She is 87! She still has girlfriends alive and well there.

Your best bet, hire a vet! Please.
