Yep, the fun crowd. How did they take to an outsider?
By the way, don't know if I told ya, my wife is from SF. Born and raised. My mother-in-law lives in Sun City outside if Phoenix, she keeps threatening to move back. She is 87! She still has girlfriends alive and well there.

Your best bet, hire a vet! Please.

After all this time I am still an outsider kinda...I'll never make the inner circle...*lol*

Yeah ...ya told me that...:D

One thing that I have done when in whatever kind of business i have started was make sure that it was funded properly at the begining....I tell people that ask about getting into this business that you need to start out in a position that will let you get through slow times and or major repairs, because both will happen...

We all know when it is slow, the company is not making money either..as much as some don't like to hear the word...we are parteners....when we aren't making money, the companies income goes down also..yea they are dealing with income from multiple units, but the income goes down just the same....we haul freight on a %'ing of the price it pays, when the freight is slow, the company takes a hit just as we do...its business.

We here at Load 1 have the integrity of the owner and the Admin staff working for us, we also know that John and Load 1 are not run as the typical carrier is...we are fortunate to be aligned with Load 1. While we do provide the service that is needed, and load 1 works to make sure we are all rolling, there are slow times, but if we have put ourselves in position fnically to survive, we all will be ok...Dispatch and load Planning are doing their part...and John knows where each of the longest sitting units are and he is keeping an eye on those units along with dispatch to get them moving....

Thanks John and all at Load 1 for the work you all do, your efforts are appreciated....

Sitting at home after being OOS for the weekend waiting for the phone to ring...

Don't have the cement pond or the bubblin crude, but I did have the possum.

Let the Lab out last night and a few minutes later I see him parading proudly around the yard with something in his mouth. Turned out to be a dead possum. He didn't kill it, it was already cold. The possum couldn't have been in the yard long since the dogs had been out a couple of hours earlier and it wasn't there.

I figure my worthless neighbor threw it over the fence after killing it earlier. He had been working in his back yard all day and he has a woodpile where critters and snakes make their home.

He and I will be having words later this afternoon. Film at eleven.

Still in Girard, Oh at the Petro. Did a Macro 19 and there are 3 of us here I guess, we are in first position. We aren't the only carrier sitting here though. A Panther truck has been a neighbor now for 1.5 days, although they just left, must have gotten a load. There is a Nations Express here also.
Haven't been in the truck lot so don't who all is back there.
So Load1 isn't the only ones slow. We are only 3 hours from home thinking about going home tonight if we don't get a load soon.

Well, I guess we are not going home. Frankie called about an hour before our home deadline time frame we set. We are now on our way to Willoughby, OH to take a load to Curtis Bay, Maryland, delivers in the morning. So we are rolling again.
Also just got a call from our son who is college in Muskegon, MI, the water pump went out in the car. He doesn't know how he is going to get to work tomorrow morning. Told him he will have to get a hold of the public transportation system and ride the bus. Now we need a load going in that direction so Tracy can fix the car. Who knows maybe we can get there, hate to pay a mechanic to fix the car.

Last week was a very slow one for me. I cannot complain I have done well but still a little bummed. Spent part of the weekend at the yard and Sunday moved to Beaverdam to be first out. Did get one call today to see if I had an interest in one going to DC which of course I was. Then they asked if I could hold 12'6" My space is 4" to short for that. Haven't heard anything else today still hoping.

It was an extremely slow week for us, pay wise. But we have our hopes up for this week. We know dispatch is working hard and will come through.

It really makes a difference when you are slow to know the company you are working for is WORKING to get you going. We really appreciate the hard work that dispatch and veryone at Load1 isdoing to keep us going.

We have taken loads last week that really weren't very profitable for us at all, but we figure that is what there is and we aren't sitting still. We know that dispatch worked hard to get those runs, so it wouldn't be right to say no to them. Take the bad with the good.

Well all you can do sometimes is laugh at your luck. Right after my last post dispatch called with a load out of the yard going to Laredo! That is my favorite place to take a load to especially early in the week, might set for a few days when you get there but by the end of the week you almost always get another long load out making for a great week.

Well not so fast grasshopper I get about two miles from the yard and jerk, shake, crunch, grind, a carrier bearing basically blows out. To ad insult to injury the same one was replaced about a year ago. I am thankful for everyone involved it happened before I was loaded and on my way it makes everyone's life easier. Keep my fingers crossed they have one in stock and can get me in tomorrow.

xiggi, man I'm sorry to hear this. Not that it will make you feel any better, but I've been laughing like this for some 30 odd years now. I call it bad luck, good luck.

Hope the good part holds and they have the part.
