Yes. An i'd shurs as heck rather be in Calgary than LA. Try it, there's some good times there. Is yer math ok? Or, yer calendar diked up?

There is a nuther prospect fer ya Dave.

I'm always a optimist. Gotta go back farther on this one and start on the calender

I sat in Little Rock for 5 days and got a $200 load to Shreveport. I sat in Shreveport for 4 days and now I have a $200 load to Little Rock for Monday. Since I cant afford a new base plate and repairs for my truck, I will be done next week. I am going back to driving semi out of Wisconsin. There will always be a market for meat , cheese and toilet paper. 2003 Freightliner with Tri Pak for sale. $20000

We just moved into a motel for the weekend in Seattle, hopefully we can get out Monday. A guy at the truck stop said he drove for Allied movers. He emptied out on January 9th and said he'd been at that truck stop ever since waiting for a load. The moving industry must be slower than expediting right now!

Based on that I would say you were done quite some time ago.

Shrevsport and Little Rock....aren't they on the "never sit" in list????

Shreveport is at the top of that list for me. I've actually had some decent luck in Arkansas, so Little Rock isn't nearly as bad. Shreveport is a black hole though. Flee!

ChuckyD... I've gotten some good loads out of Shreveport to Wisconsin and Michigan. One to Ogden, Utah. Usually sat there one or two days before getting dispatched. And only sat there if no other trucks within 100 miles. Just luck.

I've gone to Shreveport specifically because it's a black hole and want to get some rest. But, I never get rest there, I get loads, instead. Probably because everybody keeps fleeing Shreveport.

The other day I delivered in Garland and found myself #9 on a 3-a-day board. Instead of going to the trucks stops where everyone else was, I went, uhm, elsewhere. A little while later, still at #9, i got loaded out, simply because I was 12 miles away from the pickup. Yeah, it's called positioning yourself to optimize your load opportunities. It's also called an experienced roll of the dice. :D

OVM... I was trying to tweak the non-believers. We create our own luck. Right?

My luck in Shreveport was mostly based on a few experiences I've had there back when I was leased to Prestige. They just had no luck at all getting me out of there. Since I've been independent, I've only been there a couple times and both times I found another load from Dallas before I found something there. A lot of it is luck.

loaded in wausaukee wisc to knoxville tn, drove it straight thru in all of the snow, rain and ice tues night. It was dark when I hit the mouatains in ky , tn so i didn't notice just how bad it was other then the 30-35 mph pace. Knoxville to toledo the next day up 75 that was a mess from TN to Dayton. At one point sat in a parking lot as trucks worked their way up a large ice covered hill in ky. Bad TT accident in findlay killed a driver, sat for another hour. Then DH'd toledo to hillsdale mi loaded to east chicago ford. Dh'd home for the weekend, 1st out here since fri night. Figure i'll watch the game and get out monday morning.
