I don't know if I want a California run. It would have to really pay well. Too many wierd laws and wierd people. I have got "stuck" out there several times. Lots of little runs, pay ok but the traffic. My APU is not legal. It is becoming less and less cost effective to run out there. Layoutshooter

dennis i sat in vero beach fla last summer for a wekend and a day before moving to suwanee to see a friend. 15 min later i had a run.

just leave fla and come back north with us miserable cold folks:D:D just remember stay away from atl truckstops or search old posts. the cheapest gas you will find is at the fla/ga border.

I'll tell yea Jack, both times i have sat in Wisc, I got 2 real nice loads out of there, so if i got dispatched back there to the cold, i'd be on my way! Talked to my wife in toledo, she said it was 32 and windy, but its too early in the month to head home unless i get a run close to there, only been out 16 days, she doesn't miss me enough yet...:D

Gas is $2.00 a gallon here in fla and I will be fueling up before i hit Ga. as fair as TS's in Atl, I usually stay at the J south of atlanta, I think it is Jackson on I-75...

Its almost 10 pm, dereck hasn't gotten back to me yet, so I'll be hitting the sheets soon and probably head north in the morning.

Had a truck out there briefly in LA and he said the one afternoon that he was there they (CARB police) came through and were writing tickets for the idling trucks. ANyone that had a APU running they didn't bother. Fine I believe he said was 300.
Wasn't there long enough to know if they are hitting it everyday?

They were starting that late last year the last time we were out there. Our APU is NOT CARB compliant so it is only a matter of time until they start on that. It's not like the police have anything better to do. The crime rate must be really low in L.A. to allow the police to spend sooo much time on this. How about "Our" bailout? Why should not the Federal Government buy us all CARB compliant APU's? We are going to give tax refund checks to people that don't pay taxes, neat trick, eh? Layoutshooter

Thats always been a problem tax refunds for any one filing a tax return even though they were on welfare all year or some government income plan...money given to them by the taxpayers and they get yet another taxpayer gift....the refunds should stipulate...earned income only....welfare isn't earned!!

NO ONE should recieve a refund if they are NOT paying taxes. I do find it amazing that those who suck the most off of sociaty contribute the least. Layoutshooter

My 5 years in the taxi biz I learned a lot about the professional welfare class and how they work the system...how to get extra money the loopholes in the system...the exact % they are allowed to make before clawback....you'd be amazed...some earn more then we do and live better!!!

I would not be surpized, I have seen it my entire life. Many times when I was with the government and we were fighting to make ends meet we would go to the store for food. We had a VERY tight budget. We could strech a pound of hamberger further than a rubber band. We would put our low end food the the conveyour belt and then watch the "hard working welfare system bums" putting steaks etc on ahead of us. It really fried me to have to scrimp on my kids to make ends meet and know that I was paying taxes at a rate much higher than I should have been to give other peoples kids better food than I could provide my own. It really pizzed me off. It still does and then we are increasing these programs. We are creating a sociaty of bums and we are paying for them. Layoutshooter

was on a run to deliver a load of candy to a hotel that was having it's grand opening.sat on the free way for 3 hours while the police walked hand in hand down the free way. was told later that they wear looking for evidence that somebody had thrown from the car and that it happens fairly regularly

We've covered 3k+ miles in 3 days' time, and what an adventure it's been! Donner Pass this AM was rather exciting, and I don't care if I ever get to see Wyoming again or not.

Maybe someday over a coffee we'll chat about the wife and how she got called FEDEX in F-you fashion twice in one day by the same jerk Swift driver.

welcome to the club Wyoming is very pretty when it greens up in late spring early summer for the rest of the country, and as a general rule Swift drivers are aptly named they are well, real swift.

we have all heard about the swift driver who spent 4 hours driving around the airport locking for a pilot sad thing it's based on facts
