Guido,

My penny regarding the $20 is...you are correct - it was a measure taken to solve a problem. We're building, retaining, and more to come.

Guess all fees are a big, big deal when you don't move, and when you do, it's not enough to make ends meet...

Isn't there a parable or fable regarding stones and glass houses. Let it rain...I'm the hedgehog...

On a side note with your $20 gig, whether one moves a lot or doesn't isn't relavent.

Dave this post has ran it's life in the main forum. Put it to bed in the carrier forum. When you have someone posting Youtube links to try to keep the name of the company they are employed for up on top in the main forum. It's very funny, It's like everything John E. does they have to copy it. John E. don't post youtube links to keep his carriers name at the top, so I guess that is a new one. LOL

So after I read this tread:
Negative things about this company
-very poor FS
- high rate on driver insurance, $35 per week versus for example $18 Panther
-$20 penalty if you not fax your paperwork in 24 H(I think is singular in industry)
-not enough pay for hand loading
-long deadhead miles
-$200 per year administrative charges

The goods.
- good management
- Long runs
- high miles per month

But...I may be wrong.

No,I dont think you are wrong, just a little cloudy.

Driver insurance-you are talking about occupational accidental, right? That is what the $35.00 a week charge is for here.If Panther offers this kind of insurance, maybe they get a group rate based on volume to get that lower $18.00 a month.

How often do we unload a cargo van? It is sounding like we are a ups driver now,or better yet,a lumper. Is it that much freight to be concerned with anyway?

Long deadhead miles-you are given the option to accept or refuse the load So if you have alot of deadhead miles, it may be partially youre fault to begin with.I refuse a load or two because of the deadhead miles.

$200.00 per year administrative charges-I cant say I agree with that one, either. But, I do not know what all of that includes. As of yet, anyway.

As much as I've had issues with ASE, I have to defend them on this late paperwork charge. As a carrier it is absolutely crucial to get paperwork in on time. Brokers will delay payment if invoices aren't received quickly and there is nothing the carrier can do about it. Imagine if carriers would delay payment to the driver for the same amount of time. Just get your darn paperwork in promptly and don't worry about the $20.

If you are working internally, my advice would be to scrap a flat rate FSC IF you are making the claim you are paying 100 percent.
My advice would also be to scrap a charge of $20 for a BOL that is 24 hours late. Understanding HOS applications to the driver will help in that decision.
Lastly, hand unloads and the like should go to the driver without skimming a portion of it regardless of who the carrier is or whether it s a "industry standard".
I don't know if any of this applies to All State or other carriers.
Just my penny in the pond.

If one is under HOS and they can't get the consignee to fax it in...they now must burn hours to go somewhere to do this..IF out of hours they must take the 10 and then drive somewhere effectively starting the clock....unless they cheat and don't record the move...hence illegal..

The Utube teenager is an operations manager and the constant Utube postings he to ME comes off as immature and well, not so professional...

I notice the important questions got glossed over and the standard...answer later response...of why a flat rate FSC?

ANY part of the FSC...does NOT belong to the carrier no matter the reason THEY make up...period....

pure and simple...RIPOFF......

Get honest and produce 100% of what is billed to customer....

Stop keeping your VALUED partners money!!

That goes for ANY carrier on this system...
