    Washing our truck?

Be careful with Simple Green and your paint. I used it to clean greasy spots like on the hood handle (which is dead center of the hood) and around door handles. I would wipe and rinse it right off, but after about 6 months, those places faded out pretty bad. Wax would hide them, but wax wore off...

    Truck Seats

The first truck I had, I put a wheelchair seat in it. Supreme comfort with a larger than normal seat. Had armrests and lumbar support in back. Wished many times I had kept that seat when I got rid of truck. Bad part is, I bought it off Ebay and have not seen another like it.

    Which Straight Truck?

It's a 330. I like the way she handles and runs, but it is so cramped in the driver area. I feel like I am right on the wheel and can't go back any farther. It has a Cat 3126 with 9 speed tranny. No idea what the gear ratio is. My only dissappointment is the fuel consumption. About 8.2 per...

    Which Straight Truck?

My concern for you would be that you are coming out of a class 8 type enviorment. A class 7 might cramp your style a bit. As far as HP, I think normal is 215-225Hp for 26000 and under, and 250-260 HP for 33000 GVW. Of course as mentioned, ratios do play an important part of the operation. From...

    Macks?

They are a rare thing when it comes to Expeditors. When I think of a Mack, I have visions of something massive being moved. Not a little ole load of 4 foot pallets. I always considered Macks and Internationals as work trucks. But I admit, they have had to plush them up and try to make them an...

I, too, like the calendars. But the ice scraper would be nice also, if it had a long handle on it.

    Question for straigt truck owners

With todays economy being what it is, you might not get near what you think for it. I have a 2000 Pete with 420K and I know it wouldn't bring anything if I wanted to sell it. Yours is a 2004 with 540K. Look at some of the classifieds and see what they are asking for them. Also take notice how...

Storing your cmv when not in use

I park at my home in a gravel area behind my house. Only complaint so far is from my wife. I have very nice neighbors and law has never stopped me. As far as I know, I am legal doing this in my city.

    Trouble Getting Loads ?

Ugh, it works both ways. Us small fry (some call us bottom suckers) get the big boys loads for more than their regular guys. Course, when we are unloaded, we are back on our own, unless, they just happen to have something close. This business has to have variety to get all the loads covered. If...

Does anyone know what this toggle switch is ?

Do you have a Quallcom? I don't have one but my truck has had one and it had several switches in odd places when I ripped it out. Just guessing.

    Class 7 vs Class 8

I'm with you on that statement. The 8's are alot more comfortable. And that can be very important if you live in your truck for weeks on end.

    Crossing the border

I agree. If you get hassled doing it in another way, then try as mentioned here. When I used to cross, I was always told to speak only when asked a question. And don't hesitate when you answer. I didn't like the way I got treated, but that is not the place to play proud American. My pet...
