    Good Deal??

If it is the truck I am thinking of, it is a nice truck no doubt. I just think that in todays economy, the price is a bit much for the miles and year. There are a lot of trucks out there with less miles for less money. By the time you put another 2-300,000 on it, you will be hard pressed to find...

    UShip

One post you speak of Uship and the next post, you mention Panther, TriState, etc. Not quite the same freight scenaro. Now if it is expediting you want to do, there are many independent guys out here to run for. Most will let you run the way you want to. Meaning, no forced runs, time off, etc...

    UShip

I agree! Uship has the most cheap skate shippers around. Nothing wrong with wanting it shipped cheap, but, they are so afraid to commit because they think the next bid will be lower. This makes for a scheduling nightmare. You don't bid and expect to get it in time to meet your plans. I gave up...

    Old! Me Old???

Unreal isn't it? I think it is because the kids of now, don't like to sweat! I would kill for a good size card board box when I was a kid. Didn't need toys back then. Getting a bicycle was like getting a car. If you were fortunate enough to get a new bike, oh wow, you were in heaven. And I was...

    truck stop bums

Pilot in south Memphis. Black driver who can't get a draw on his comchek till the next day. He needs $6.50 to buy a fuel filter so he can get out of there. He will even let you take tools off his truck. Yeah, right! Then there is the truckstops in Indy. I believe this is the training camp...

What's the worst thing about layovers?

The worse thing for me is trying to juggle the sleep schedule. After having been off for 10 hours which included sleep time, I sit there thinking, "Do I need to sleep a little more in case I get a run tonight"? So I sleep several more hours and no run. Then it is night time and I am wide awake...

Run on my own authority or go with big guys

Again, I have always said, "There are so many different ways to do this job". And fastrod has his way of doing this. What works for you, may seem crazy to others. I drive a ST and I am home every weekend (my choice). And I may deadhead home from Laredo (and have). I make every effort to try and...

    Air Leak or what?

Wow! Guess it was shot from the tanks never being drained. I can see that happening. And now my governor is acting up. But I have a spare. Guess it is time to use it. Glad you are back up and running. Stay safe!

    Air Leak or what?

I guess I am a scardy cat, but I always think of what could happen if I try to do this or do that while on the road. While I carry a pretty good assortment of tools, it is not practical to carry enough for every scenario. My thinking while out on the road is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If...

Covert a class 8 tractor to straight truck

I have never had a tractor stretched, but have had a straight truck stretched to make a cattle truck years ago. I have driven two others that belonged to other people that had been stretched. Mine was done by an outfit in Nashville and came out an OK truck. It drove good and ran the road...
