    XM Radio in '07 Sprinter

Ken, It does rise and fall with engine rpm. And it is present on both the stock Becker radio/cd changer and on my CB (which has an external speaker) I'll check with some local car stereo installers for the filters. Thanks !

    Airtabs on a van?

I've been following this thread with interest - I have to admit ..... I was a little skeptical of the claims initially ..... but it really sounds like they are working out and do deliver on their claims of better handling and increased fuel mileage. For the low cost it seems like they would be...

    AIR BAG LIGHT ON SPRINTER

The kid's 2006 has had an issue with the SRS light being on for quite awhile now - had it into the dealer and they weren't able to fix it (or just didn't for some reason) No problems with ours - and I've even had the passenger side of dash where the bag is apart (to run some wiring) :+

    XM Radio in '07 Sprinter

Dale, Glad the adapter plug worked out for ya. I managed to get mine wired in just the other day myself - nice to have the better sound quality ...... and not to have be fiddling with the FM transmitter every so often. I have noticed that there is a ever-so-slight whine from some engine...

Sprinter Sway Bar Update - update

Congratulations, You have now upgraded to the sport-version of the freight-hauling RV. Can we say farfegnugen ? ;)

    question on APUs

If you only need heat, you may just want to put in an air heater (Espar, Webasto, etc.) to heat the unit overnight - much less expensive than an APU. And if your electrical needs are modest, consider some AGM batteries and an inverter. Even with the two above it will probably be way less than...

    XM Radio in '07 Sprinter

Greg, I would assume that his XM has a built-in FM transmitter (my Sirius does) and he should be able to use it to transmit the XM broadcast directly to his radio, with out the tunecastII. The problem with this type of set up is when you travel over a large area the available (unused) FM...

    Watch out driving in VA

I was referring to the sign ..... although it appears that Waldo has one too (I missed it)

    XM Radio in '07 Sprinter

I'm not sure I understand exactly how you are trying to install it but if you are trying to hardwire the XM into your current sound system it likely can be done - I'm about to do it on our 2006 with a Sound 30 radio/cd player. On mine it requires using the "AUX" input on the Sound 30 system -...

    Watch out driving in VA

I believe it's actually Lawtey, FL that has the billboard ..... although Waldo may have one too ..... but I didn't see it when we passed thru on Saturday and Sunday this past week. Running down on Saturday, sure enough the local gendarme had someone pulled over ..... coming back on Sunday I...

    Question?

The week of the 4th, and the week prior, were both fairly slow for me. Luckily that coincided with needing to do some vehicle maintainence and some stuff around the house. This past week has been good though - I did my highest ever since I started back in March '07. Hoping it continues for...

    Mobil 1 FYI

And Sprinters don't really have much of a break-in either - avoid speeds over XX mph, causing the transmission to "kick-down" (like while trying to pass) for the first thousand miles I think. On the otherhand with the Cummins ISB in my Ram, DC/Cummins says you should tow loads with the vehicle...

Trickin' Das Sprinter - Teil Zwei

Ken, Understand on the heat .... the wife and were out all day yesterday (90+ degrees) trenching and laying conduit for the electrical service to the barn ....... we both about collapsed last night when we came in .... wanted to throw in the towel at various time times throughout the day but...

Trickin' Das Sprinter - Teil Zwei

Ken, That's absolutely just an outstanding job ! The degree of effort you took to "do it right" says alot. (BTW, I've heard it said that marine ships' carpenters eventually go insane .... from having to work with no straight lines or right angles ;)) Thanks for the report on the Koni's ...

    Cargo van/mpg?

Similar experience here on the glass as TJ - my son had to have one replaced on his 2004 and it was pretty reasonable. If that chip isn't all that big you should see about having it repaired rather than replaced - Safelite can do it for around $50 ..... if it isn't huge.

    Logging Issues

I also suspect the DOT would not be keen on you bouncing between air miles rules and conventional logging. Check out the FAQ on the site - I believe it is permitted.

Where will you spend Independence Day?

We spent it at home. I had a good load this past Sunday and it's been quiet since then - nice to get a few days off in a row. Spent the past couple of days working on vehicles - new front brakes on the wife's car, oil/fuel filter changes on the Sprinter, finished installing the CB and tuning...

    Cargo van/mpg?

I have averaged from 21.172 to 26.054 mpg per tank, with an average of 23.766 mpg overall for the last couple of months. (I'm a couple of weeks behind on updating my figures.) This is in a Sprinter 2500 SHC. I avoid jack-rabbit starts like the plague and I try to avoid running the A/C since it...

What companys pay the most per mile, and include g

RE: What companys pay the most per mile, and inclu David, What you were told is generally true - it mostly is one-way freight .... although not always. There is a daily run (almost dedicated I guess you could say) that the D-unit trucks are doing that hauls and pays both ways. Yes, not having...
