How large an area is it cooling ? Initially, after I had the unit installed, it was cooling the entire area inside my Sprinter (the Sprinter's cargo capacity is listed as 473 cu. ft. - so I'd guess the actual volume of the entire inside is around 800 cu. ft. at least - perhaps more) .... well...

How long ? As far as how long it can run before recharging is necessary, I have run the unit overnight for at least a 10 hour or so stretch and when I woke up my battery monitor showed the battery bank still had a capacity of 76%. That was in West Memphis last week and was the instance I...

Batteries Well ..... I been busy :D ..... sorry for the delay. The AC unit runs from four Group 29 Walmart Everstart Maxx "deep cycle" batteries, rated at 125 amp hour capacity each. The battery bank's total capacity is 500 amp hours, maximum usable capacity is really 250 amp hours (because...

Yes, it was Espar of Michigan - a detailed (but not overly technical) reply is coming - perhaps later today or hopefully tomorrow at the latest. I'm at home now trying to get a few things done and I have a load that delivers in Battlecreek at 04:00 Monday and I need to get a little sleep before...

Jim, The unit was around $3200 or $3300 and change plus installation. It did not include any batteries as I already had my own. I don't have an exact handle on the exact installation cost breakdown, since I had some other work at the same time. They relocated my roof vent/fan, installed...

Well .... like you said .... heat does go up, so getting it up isn't a problem. With the Espar (using the dial mini-controller - probably the cheapest option) the thermostat/temp probe that tells the Espar when it needs to put out more or less heat is on the intake - so if you don't want it too...

OVM, Yeah - I'd believe it. It didn't take me too long before I figured out that in the winter setting my shoes up on top of the refrigerator/freezer made them alot warmer in the morning when I went to slip them on. :D

In my experience, getting heat to go up is rarely a problem. :D The bigger problem is how to arrange things so that your shoes are not ice cold when you climb out of that bunk in the morning sweating ...... because the temp at the ceiling is 85 or 90 degrees.

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

Yeah, well .... forget that idea ..... the new contracts are coming out for Fedex Home Delivery (a division of Ground) - one of the changes was that contractors can no longer buy fuel directly from the Ground pumps at a subsidized rate of $1.25 a gallon. I assume that this will also hold true...

    Ordered new Sprinter

You might be a little low on your fuel mileages there David. Of course it will vary by driver ... You've just had two people (geo and Charles) that own and drive post '06 Sprinters, state that they are getting 20 or better (up to 25 in geo's case) - so are they just making this up ...

Lose the black curtains - black absorbs heats, doesn't reflect it. It will turn the inside into an oven - especially if the sun is hitting it directly.

    My first big problem...

Steve, Great data. Well I haven't gotten out the color spectrometer :D ..... but it could be more white than blue .... I'd say it's sorta a white-bluish smoke ..... I really need to observe it a little closer. That might be what it is .... I know I first smelled it when my son got his '04...

CRC makes a cleaner specifically for that I believe which is available from O'Reilly Auto and probably other places. The product info link's on CRC's website seem to be dead at the moment. I've heard of people cleaning them with kerosene, diesel, and carb cleaner too ..... IIRC. Two foot...

    My first big problem...

I recently built myself an "idle stick" out of a turnbuckle and 2' long piece of 3/8" threaded rod. With it I can set the idle up to around 1000 - 1200 rpm. The first thing I noticed was that the stink went away. Previously, anytime I idled for extended periods (an hour or more) you could...
